A bright, spacious apartment with a private garden in the trendy Rivierenbuurt neighborhood with parks, museums and architecture that will stop even the kids in their tracks. It sleeps 4 + 1. Set on the ground floor all on one level, the residence is ideal for those with toddlers and younger kids not yet confident with stairs. The hosts have a young family themselves and provide plenty to entertain even the smallest ones so parents can relax. The main living areas are open plan in style with a chic, modern kitchen and a large table for family mealtimes. The kitchen doors open straight onto the garden which has an alfresco dining table and space for the kids to run. The apartment’s location is ideal for exploring the wider city, just minutes’ walk from transport stops, as well as the canal and riverside.
Why Kids Love it
A home away from home for kids of all ages with plenty of toys and board games to keep them entertained. The kids’ bedrooms are bright and cozy with playful decorations and lots to play with including toy kitchens, a dolls house and a den area beneath the top bunk. Doors can be opened from the bunk room offering direct access to the garden for seamless inside/outside play space. Meal times are made easier with 2 Stokke Tripp Trapp chairs, and a mini table and chair set for those who prefer a table to themselves. The surrounding neighborhood is family friendly with a variety of playgrounds and green spaces on offer alongside museums, galleries and canal cruises for a fun way to explore the city. For days out, the NEMO science museum, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Kindermuseum are all easily accessible. The hosts can provide a crib, baby bath and a baby monitor on request.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 4 nights. The apartment is all on one level. There are doors connecting the primary bedroom with the kids’ bunk room (with space for a crib), which can be left open for those listening out for younger ones. There is WiFi available throughout and a washer/dryer. For those wishing to bring a car, paid parking is available on the street though public transport in Amsterdam is excellent and it’s easy to get around. A travel crib is available for an additional baby or toddler, please ask the hosts at the time of booking. Weekly housekeeping is included in your stay. The garden room is not accessible to guests. Sorry, no pets.
About the Location
The residence is located in the design led Rivierenbuurt neighborhood, in the borough of Amsterdam Zuid, and is known for its 1920s and 1930s Amsterdam School architecture. It’s a family-friendly area with plenty of green space and playgrounds for the kids to run and play in. There are a number of good restaurants a short walk away serving up international cuisine alongside laid back cafes that welcome families. The closest shopping street is in Rijnstraat, a 2-minute walk away. The Bohemian De Pijp neighborhood and RAI Conference Center are a 20-minute walk or short cycle. It’s easy to explore the wider city with a tram and metro stop just around the corner that will get you into the city center in 10 minutes. The nearest airport - Schiphol - is 16 minutes away by car or taxi; Central station for Eurostar/international train departures is 17 minutes' drive.
Accommodation Details
The residence is on the ground floor of an apartment building and has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom set over 1 level. The entrance opens onto the central living area which has a large sofa, a TV, a sound system and an ornamental fireplace. An open archway connects it to the open plan style kitchen-diner which is fully equipped with modern appliances, a dishwasher and ample counter space, allowing guests to prepare family meals with ease. There’s a large dining table seating up to 8, and doors that open directly onto the garden patio. The primary bedroom has a kingsize bed, wardrobes and doors which can open into bedroom 3 which has a single upper bunk bed with play space below. Bedroom 2 is also a kids’ bedroom with a toddler bed, and more toys. There is a shared modern bathroom with a shower and a bathtub. The garden is accessible via open doors from the kitchen living space and the 2nd bedroom, it has a patio area with an alfresco dining table seating 4, outdoor seating and a play area.

The landscaped garden has been thoughtfully styled with plenty of space to play and dine/relax alfresco. We love the sleek, contemporary kitchen diner with its high ceilings and elegant pendant lights, perfect for making an occasion of dinners at home.
