Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights during summer months, 3 nights at all other times. Maximum capacity for the property is 14 guests. Both the main house and the guest house have air conditioning in all the bedrooms and indoor living spaces. Pricing includes 4 hours per day of housekeeping except for Sundays. Safety notes: the pool is walled and has an entrance gate. Young children should be supervised around the pond in the meadow in front of the house, which only has a primitive fence. Please note: the residence is in a wetland zone, which is a natural mosquito habitat. Mosquito nets are installed on windows and doors and eco-friendly mosquito repellent systems operate around the estate from July to mid-September. Mosquitos may still be a bother at sunset. The animals on the estate are looked after by housekeepers who live on the neighboring plot. Car hire is recommended to get around and enjoy your location.

Style Notes

Rustic and beautiful. The house is a traditional and characterful Provencal farmhouse constructed from local stone. It oozes charm with stacks of books on the coffee table and original stone fireplaces. A jumble of artefacts, a grand piano, a wall of hats and mismatched furniture add to its charm – this is a place where you can feel relaxed and at home. Views from the garden extend over fields and hedges, and large trees provide shade in the heat of the day. We love the French antique furniture; the large kitchen with tiles and copper saucepans; and the incredible outside grounds where you’ll can wander from the tennis court to the outdoor bar to the pool.

I was born in Arles and have active roots there despite having been living in London with my three children and my husband for more than 20 years. I love spending time in Arles and its community. I will happily share all my local addresses. Mas Regala is a family home I share with my sister. It is full of character and is a true incarnation of an elegant Camargue Mas. It is ideally located being secluded within 25 acres of land and only 5 minutes from Arles, 20 minutes from the unspoiled wild beaches of the Camargue and 10 minutes from the hilly Alpilles. The Mas is easily accessible by train (TGV to Avignon) and by plane (Marseille airport is 45 min away) and Nîmes Garon (15 minutes away).

Arles, Provence

Centered around the Rhône River in southern Provence, Arles is known for its ancient Roman remains, including the Amphitheatre, as well as inspiring Van Gogh's famous paintings of the beautiful landscape. It has grown in recent years to be a cultural attraction in Provence, attracting artists to its unique architecture and vibe. A Unesco heritage site, Arles is full of history and is also great location from which to explore neighboring areas of Provence.
