In the family-oriented Nea Smirni neighborhood, close to the centre of Athens and its seafront, it has good public transport links, a park next door and the area’s vibrant square, full of restaurants, cafés and independent shops, a 10-minute walk away.

Why Kids Love it

Kids of all ages love the big terrace where they can play. The bathroom has a bathtub. The park across the street is a firm favorite: the playground is fantastic and there is a little café which sells much needed coffee to parents and ice lollies to kids. Nea Smirni is one of the most family-friendly neighborhoods in Athens. The location makes trips to the beach and the ancient ruins easy.

Modern and comfortable. The decor is minimal yet functional, offering everything one might need for a short or long stay. The bathroom suite is made of black granite, the kitchen is modern and the living room has a black marble floor, ideal during the hot summer months. Alexia is half French half Greek and lives in London with her husband and their two little boys. They love going to Athens to visit family and friends and show this amazing city to their children. This is why Alexia and her husband kept their pre-kids roof terrace appartment and arranged it in the most child-friendly way. Their aim is to make other families from around the world feel like home in Athens and discover this ancient city like true Athenians (with their kiddies in tow)!

Ancient ruins and modern families

Running around ancient ruins, picnicking in the shade of palm trees and buying koulouri, the sesame bread that the Athenians love so much, are just a few treats to look forward to on a trip to Athens. Don’t worry about the kids getting bored, the modern museums beside the city's archaeological sites know how to keep everyone occupied. If all else fails, a cable car trip up Mount Likavitos with an ice-cream at the top is always a good solution. Our local residences near markets and key attractions make a trip to the city with kids as easy as Greek spinach pie.
