Perks for the Parents

The bright and sunny family home in Atwater Village comes with an array of kids toys and is just minutes away from some of LA’s best attractions. It sleeps 4 + 2. The fenced-in front yard faces the famous California sunset and the fully enclosed, kid-friendly backyard has lounge furniture, a barrel charcoal grill and an 8-foot dining table for entertaining. Open up the garage to enjoy a home gym equipped with a punching bag, weights, bands, etc as well as a flat screen TV and mini fridge. Inside, the open floor plan provides a light and spacious kitchen, dining and living area with a thoughtful display of toys, a long, deep-seated couch and a 42" Apple TV. For parents-only time, the bonus room serves as a private office space by day and a cozy screening room by night, with a 65" TV. The house is a peaceful 10-minute walk to cafes, restaurants, bars, boutique shops, a gym and yoga studio.

Why Kids Love it

The living room is used as a modern, sunny playroom, with an assortment of toys and books for kids aged 6 and under. There's also a Piklar triangle for climbing and the thick living room carpet (with extra padding underneath) is great for floor play and tumbles. The children's bedroom has more toys and books and a rocking arm chair which is ideal for bedtime reading. The backyard is a kids oasis with a playhouse, mud kitchen and paved area for scooters (and helmets). While their parents' work out in the garage gym, kids can enjoy supervised play on the 5 foot climbing wall or work on a paint project in the arts & crafts corner. The house is near to several parks and playgrounds including the host’s favorite indoor play place, My Gym (sign up for classes online). Ask the hosts about amenities, such as: a high chair, booster seat, baby bath, travel crib, bed guard, stroller, so that we may have everything you need accessible for your stay. And please feel free to request anything not listed!

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 10 nights. Safety notes: there are 3 steps to the front porch leading to the main entrance and the house has security cameras fixed at the exteriors of the front and back doors. The front yard is partially fenced in for privacy and the backyard is completely fenced in. The driveway is narrow and parks only 1 car, however street parking is free and always available, with Wednesday and Friday alternate street parking (the street signs are well placed and easy to follow). The hosts use a house manager to take out the trash bins every Wednesday evening and return them every Thursday evening, so the driveway needs to be clear during these times. (Don’t worry if you forget - but the house manager may knock or call to remind you to move your car if it's blocking in the bins). Smoking is prohibited anywhere on the property. Quiet hours are between 10pm-8am.

Hi, I'm Katy. My husband, Ryan and I are originally from the east coast (Maine & Maryland). We live in Los Angeles now, where we both work in film production. We have two boys, Robin and River who like dinosaurs and building forts (but who doesn't!).
