Perks for the Parents

This modern 4-bedroom family home is in a fabulous neighbourhood in the very heart of Bangkok, close to great Thai food, grocery stores and the city’s largest public green space, Lumpini Park, which has a great lake for boating. The house has a small outdoor terrace and dedicated kids bedroom. The nearest skytrain station is just 200 m away, making major tourist attractions and popular sights like the museums and malls (Grand Palace and Golden Buddha) easily accessible.

Why Kids Love it

The house is set up with families in mind, and includes a large kitchen for family meals, an outdoor terrace and a dedicated kids bedroom with platform bed (ideal for age 6+) and a twin bed. Older kids will love the entertainment room, which has a foosball table and toys. There is also a den to play in, and the house comes with WiFi, cable TV and a DVD player.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. The house is set over 3 floors with plenty of stairs and no stair gates - those with younger children may need to offer extra assistance. Housekeeping is provided every 2-3 days for longer staying guests, with bed linens and towels changed weekly. The owners can provide a crib, car seat, high chair, stroller and toys upon request. There is a handy washer-dryer.

About the Location

This house is in a great location, within walking distance to restaurants, malls, hotels and attractions in the center of it all. Tucked behind the embassy and shopping streets, it is in the very heart of Bangkok. The closest BTS skytrain station is Ploenchit, which will take you all over the city. It is a 10-15 minute walk from Lumpini Park. Bangkok's international airport is a 30-minute drive away.

Style Notes

The house is modern with Thai influence. Newly renovated, it has furniture of a good quality, with professionally-cleaned towels and linens. Living spaces are clean and simple; lighting is modern. The lounge has an interesting horse sculpture plus classic pen and ink temple drawings. We love the simple but stunning dining room, the terrace for a breath of fresh air and the sweet kids bedroom.

Bangkok, Thailand

Exotic, fast-paced and family friendly

From temples and street markets to fantastic kids entertainment parks, Bangkok has options for all ages and tastes. Start with a family cooking class and market tour - food is king here - then play in Lumpini Park beside sun-basking monitor lizards. Historic temples and the floating market of Amphawa make for an easy day trip, while in the city itself, an afternoon canal boat trip offers a glimpse into local living. And to round the day off neatly, dinner in Hajime Robot restaurant - with real robot waiters - is hard to beat.
