Bend, Oregon
The sunny mountain town
With 300 plus days of sunshine per year, along with an excess of outdoor activities for kids, there’s plenty to recommend Bend. Listed as one of the 52 places to see in the world by The New York Times Travel section in 2015, it is close to ski resorts and lakes ideal for tubing, kayaking, swimming and fishing. Treat dad to a trip to a local microbrewery (they are kid-friendly too) and don’t miss the High Desert Museum, where you can meet the local wildlife.
