A beautiful family home with a dedicated playroom, just minutes from the heart of Boston in the child-friendly Charlestown neighborhood. It sleeps 6 + 2. This home has a great layout for parents and kids alike, with an open floor plan on the main area so you can keep an eye on the children, as well as a dedicated playroom and kids bedroom to keep little ones happy. When you’re ready to explore the city, it’s a quick trip on the train to visit the Boston Children's Museum or the New England Aquarium.

Why Kids Love it

The house is used by a young family of 5 and is a perfect set up for babies, toddlers and children aged under 10. There is enough family space across the main living room, play room, kids bedrooms and outdoor space for 3 kids to play very comfortably. It’s also very close to playgrounds, parks and splash pads in the neighborhood. The house comes with a baby crib, pack-n-play (which can be moved into any of the rooms), a high chair and toys/books.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week. Safety notes: The house is spread over three levels, there are stair gates on top of each set of stairs and all sockets have safety plugs on the main floor and in the kids bedrooms. The garage can fit a large SUV but might be too small for anything larger. At the back of the garage is space for stroller storage; there will be a double BOB stroller for guests to use during their stay to walk around the city. Hosts are happy to suggest several childcare company recommendations in the area. Sorry - no pets.

About the Location

The house is located in Charlestown, a family friendly walkable neighborhood in Boston. Charlestown is home to a number of historic sites and is one of the stops on the Freedom trail. The area is also great for transport into the city: it’s a 15-minute drive or 20 minutes by train. There are 2 different train stations within a 10-minute walk (Bunker Hill St @ Sackville St and Main St @ Walker St). It’s a 25-minute walk into the North End, while ferry access into downtown Boston is just 15 minutes away. The Greenway and the city’s museums are also in very close proximity. It's a 15-minute ride to and from Logan Airport.

Accommodation Details

The house has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, set over 3 floors: the garage and entry on level 1, living room/ kitchen/ playroom on level 2, bedrooms on level 3. It has an open plan main floor with a bright kitchen and a large island: the room opens to a family room with sofas, TV and a large family table. Also on this floor is a good sized play room with big double doors to close off the mess. The kitchen is fully stocked with all cooking appliances and utilities you will need. On the top floor there is a primary bedroom (with a kingsize bed, crib and an ensuite bathroom), as well as 2 further bedrooms with a family bathroom; 1 has a queensize bed and the other has 2 single beds plus a large bookcase full of books suitable for ages 0-8.

Style Notes

Pretty pastels. This is a bright, light, beach-style home with blue, white and gray tones. The hosts have chosen a very simple and minimalistic design, with sight lines from the front of the house to the back creating a feeling of space, accentuated by large windows in all rooms. We love the subtle wallpapers used in different rooms to develop a unique feel to each area, the very grand (non-working) fireplace in the living area and the storage-friendly entrance hall with space for everything.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
