This romantic French apartment, in the home that once belonged to the 19th century composer Charles Gounod, is in the green and leafy Saint Cloud, 25 minutes from central Paris. It sleeps up to 4. Local bakeries, organic supermarkets, florist, restaurants and a local market are all within walking distance. The large garden full of flowers provides a relaxing retreat away from it all while the location means you can be in the heart of Paris, walking cobbled streets and enjoying museums and macarons, in less than half an hour. The house is also 2 km away from the Saint Cloud Golf Club, close th horse racing at Saint Cloud, Longchamps and Auteuil, as well as Roland Garros tennis courts.
Why Kids Love it
Kids will like the swings and the cabane in the garden, where there is space to run and play. The house is fully equipped with kids’ toys. The owners have twin boys so guests will find various kids amenities. The single beds are suitable for children aged from 3 years old, but we can also arrange a toddler-size bed. There is a piano and a guitar to play. Disneyland Paris is just over an hour away ; take your pick from the kids favorite transport options to reach Paris’ playgrounds : tram, metro, bus or train.
Things to Know
Minimum stay : 2 nights. There are no stiarcases or drops at the property – it is all on one level. The garden is fully secured with a high fence. The house overlooks train tracks (not accessible from the garden) and kids can enjoy watching the trains go by. There is a cat that lives at the property that will not be there when you visit (unless you want it), so those with cat allergies should be aware. Otherwise the house is pet-free, strictly non-smoking and it is not allowed to party. Please be aware that the property is at the garden level, the upper levels of the house being occupied by our peaceful neighbours. Car hire is not necessary as you can benefit from public transport, but there is secure parking at the property.
About the Location
The residence is in the commune of Saint Cloud, in the western posh suburbs of Paris, 25 minutes by public transport from the center. Saint Cloud is known for its 1150-acre park that acts as a green oasis and draws many families for bike rides, picnics and sports. The Saint Cloud railway station is 5 minutes’ walk away and access to central Paris by tramway, buses and the Paris Metro is also within a few minutes’ stroll. It is around 40 minutes from the Gare du Nord by car/taxi for Eurostar, and 30 minutes from Charles de Gaulle airport.

This apartment within a historic house has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (one with a bathtub, and is on level 1. There is an open plan living/dining area and separate kitchen. The primary bedroom has a kingsize bed and there is a children’s room with 2 single beds. Outside is a terrace and 1000 sqm of private garden.

Romantic chic. The apartment is part of a grand 19th century house with beautiful spaces and decor. It is also an artist’s home – the owner, Nicolas, is a sculptor and painter so look out for his pieces inside too. Traditional features blend with French tradition and artistic touches to create a unique space. We love the views of the garden and the sunny aspect, the high ceilings and give a spacious, airy feel, and the abundance of floral style.
