Perks for the Parents

This lovely family home, walking distance from the beach and around 30 minutes from Brighton town center, has plenty for younger and older kids including a sunken trampoline in the garden. Cooking meals for the family is a pleasure with a table that sits 8-10 people and plenty of space to lounge after meals. The living room opens into the kitchen via french doors, creating a large family space, and there is a TV room in the basement for relaxing together after a day on the beach.

Why Kids Love it

There is plenty for kids, including a bedroom with bunk bed and toys, a garden and board games to play with. The space is fun, welcoming and uncluttered; the owners choose to only keep items they really love, so all the toys and games are much loved and kid-approved. As a family, they are avid readers - there are some great novels on the bookshelves. The garden is small but perfectly formed with a small square of artificial turf around a perfect in-ground trampoline.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. There are 2 flights of stairs are without balustrades so please bear this in mind for very young children. The bunk bed setup is also better for those aged 6 and up. The hosts use home automation so a lot of the lighting works automatically. Parking is permit parking only (guest passes available on prior request); there is free parking nearby if needed. No pets, no shoes. Note that the bathrooms are shower-only. Car rental is useful but Hove train station is a 10-minute walk, reaching London in about an hour, and there is a bus network with a number of bus stops minutes from the front door.

About the Location

The residence is in Hove, a 30-minute walk of Brighton center. Hove is a family-friendly town immediately to the west of Brighton with a pebbly beach, parks and playgrounds. The Sussex Downs start under 15 minutes’ drive from the town. The property is 10-15 minutes’ walk from the pebbly beach with 4 parks and playgrounds within a 20-minute walk. There are lots of pubs, cafés, restaurants, museums, shops, supermarkets in the area. Gatwick is a 30-minute drive away and Heathrow is about an hour away.

Accommodation Details

This 4-bedroom family home is set up over 3 floors with a small, thoughtfully designed garden. The house sits on a corner plot so the garden has direct access to the road, which is useful for prams and bikes. The ground floor is large, open and airy and includes a kitchen, lounge and separate utility room and downstairs loo. The basement is set up as with a TV room and guest bedroom with double/fullsize bed. The first floor has 3 bedrooms, 1 with a bunk bed and 2 with double/fullsize beds. There are 2 bathrooms with double sinks and showers.

Style Notes

Simple, clean and bright. This family home has lots of white floors and walls with neutral colours, patterns and textures. The owners work hard to ensure everything they have is useful and necessary. Scandi-inspired spaces with lots of plants and just enough creative touches to keep things interesting make it a great place to stay. Clutter is minimized throughout. We love the great location in classy Hove, a stroll from the beach, the white-painted floorboards, and their perfect inground trampoline in the garden.

I'm a meticulous and driven individual motivated by supporting and providing for my family. Leah is the eldest of two. Confident and talented, just like her mother Lola. Livia is the youngest in our household, delicate and considered. As a family, we prioritise exercise and fitness, a sustainable lifestyle, caring for and supporting each other. We love to explore and experience!

Brighton & Hove, England

Beside the seaside

Brighton is one of the UK’s classic seaside destinations, with a pier with rides and arcades, a pebbly beach and more fish and chip shops than you can shake a fork at. It’s a fantastic spot for a family holiday, rain or shine, with attractions ranging from the beach to aquariums, museums and a small zoo just outside town. With independent shopping in The Laines and family-friendly cafés lining the seafront, it’s a popular place to visit. We’d recommend scooting along the promenade, playing on the pier and trailing around the Royal Pavilion. Our hosts can provide you with local knowledge on the best spots during your visit.
