This is a fantastic base for families with kids aged 5 and older visiting New York City: the location is easy to get around and you can explore the city via nearby subway lines into Manhattan. Brooklyn Promenade is just down the street and little-known local finds are close by. (Ask the host to recommend the best pizza, tacos, coffee and food delicatessen Brooklyn has to offer, just a few minutes’ walk away.) Parents will love the balcony and the shared roof terrace, which has dining tables and lounge chairs, as well as 360 degree views of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The apartment is a great space for a family with kids aged 5 years or older. Brooklyn Heights is considered one of the best neighborhoods in the city for families - it’s a very walkable and safe neighborhood with family-friendly cafes and stores within easy reach, as well as the river and the waterfront parks nearby. Older children will enjoy easy access to the waterfront Brooklyn Bridge Park which features a multitude of smaller play parks for children of all ages, as well as a water park and recreation sports (basketball, volleyball, soccer fields and more) in addition to water sports (kayaking and sailing) and a roller rink.

Things to Know

Stylish yet simple. The apartment is light and airy, with high ceilings and lots of natural sunlight. Wooden floors and white walls create a modern and simple frame to quality furniture and design accents. The fireplace in the main living area provides a warm and charming touch, balanced by the sleek kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Magali's Montague Residence in Brooklyn Heights. The neighborhood is incredibly convenient, with shops and amenities steps from the building. The building felt safe, the doorman was friendly, and the elevator was appreciated with our luggages. We especially appreciated Magali being so accommodating of my traveling with my service dog, Eugene, and she was so kind as to even set out water bowls and a dog bed for him. She was incredibly responsive from first message through our checking out, and we look forward to a future stay at this beautiful and well-appointed apartment!

Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn

America's first suburb

Historical Brownstone Brooklyn starts here, where Brooklyn Bridge connects to Manhattan. It's a quiet, peaceful area - you might even wake up to birdsong - and is populated by families. Explore parks, kids shops and family-friendly eateries, then cycle or walk across the bridge to the big city. Don't miss the views from Brooklyn promenade over the water to the skyscrapers.
