About the Location

Located in the heart of Brussels in the neighborhood of Saint-Gilles, you’ll find many landmarks and museums nearby as well as beautiful parks. This residential area is known for its independent galleries and art nouveau buildings, including the Horta Museum. On Sundays, hit the Midi Market at Brussels-South Railway Station, which sells everything from plants to clothing and exotic spices. The Museum of the Gueuze, in the Cantillon brewery, tells the story of the city’s unique spontaneously fermented beer. It’s 3 minutes’ walk to Faider tram stop and the area is around 45 minutes away.

Accommodation Details

This home has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over the bottom 2 floors of the building. There’s a striking open plan living/dining room, with a dining table to fit 10. From here, doors lead to an outdoor deck and garden and shutter doors open up to the sleek sophisticated kitchen. Above this floor there’s a queensize bedroom (with a mezzanine glass panel over the living space). All the other 3 bedrooms have queensize beds; 2 of which also have glass doors leading to a balcony

Style Notes

Recently renovated, the host has brought a modern twist to the classic architecture of the building. The stunning grand ceilings in the living room frame the beautiful stone fireplace, while the modern gray tiled bathrooms have a hotel-style level of luxury. We love the ornate wooden flooring, the intricate fan-style ceiling lights and the stylish black supersize headboards.

Chocolates and a child detective

Medieval buildings, superstar chocolatiers and stellar museums mingle with the gray-suited politicians of the European Parliament in Belgium’s capital. Don’t miss the TinTin trail – Herge’s boy detective has a museum dedicated to him just outside the city - or the Atomium, once named Europe’s most bizarre building, for a bird’s eye view of the city.
