This is the perfect place for the whole family to get together, with the comfort of their own spaces. Parents can work out in the gym (or hit the bar!) on the lower ground floor while the kids relax with a film in the movie room. Sunny days mean the whole family can lounge around the pool or take a dip in the hot tub. It’s also a great city for walking and cycling, so you can hit the family-friendly museums and parks with ease.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will love exploring this unique home, which has a dedicated movie room and a play room filled with books so they can truly escape from parents. There’s even pull-out beds in the play room for 2 extra guests if they want to try sibling sleepovers! They can play soccer and baseball in the large backyard, chill out on the hammock and porch swing, or splash around in the pool to their heart’s content. The house is equipped with children’s chairs and tables to make younger guests feel at home, while older kids and teens can explore the safe neighborhood on foot or by bike if they want their own independence.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Safety notes: the pool must remain closed while kids are unsupervised - there is a full cover for the pool and hot tub. The pool is closed during the winter months. Stairs have gates and windows are secure. Children should be supervised on the balconies. There is lots of street parking here, as well as a 2-car garage, which has safety features on the doors. The house has a mudroom and an office, as well as a BBQ and lots of outdoor seating.

About the Location

The house is located in Arlington, Virginia. There’s plenty of green parks and open spaces to explore: Glebe Park (10 minutes’ walk) has a nature center, sports courts and playground, while the water-front trails along the Potomac river (where you can also paddle) are just 10 minutes by bike or under half an hour’s walk. It's a 20-minutes drive into DC to visit world-famous monuments including the Pentagon, The White House and the Lincoln Memorial. This central spot is also home to the city’s fantastic museums, such as the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History and the National Air and Space Museum - both perfect for families. Visit historic Georgetown for lunch or spend the day across the river up at the Smithsonian National Zoo. It’s 20 minutes from Ronald Reagan Washington airport or about 30 minutes from Dulles International.

Style Notes

Grown-up glamour. The residence is bright, light, modern and sophisticated. The hosts have chosen designer decoration and built a sleek kitchen, with tall ceilings creating a strong sense of space. The quirky kids room is themed on a city skyline with boat beds, while all the rooms have kid-friendly finishes. The luxe modern bathrooms all have bathtubs the overall finish is slick and smart. We love the striking architectural lighting, the chic fabrics used in the primary bedroom and the beautiful contemporary artwork in the grand staircase.
