This light and bright Brooklyn townhouse has 4 floors, a playroom for the kids and a hi-spec interior to please the parents. It sleeps up to 8. With a playroom basement for the kids and a spacious open plan kitchen / diner / living room on the 1st floor, and 2 other floors for bedrooms, there is plenty of space for a family to spread out. The self-contained queensize primary suite on the top floor with its own bathroom, kitchenette and access to the roof garden is perfect for grandparents or parents who want a little private space to themselves. The house is kitted out with lots of cookware and a linen closet packed with Brooklinen and Parachute linens and towels.

Why Kids Love it

There are lots of toys and craft supplies and tons of space for play, especially in the basement which has lots of open space, natural light and a toy closet. The owners have a baby and a ten year old, so the house is equipped for a variety of ages. Children will like the beautiful kids’ room with books and toys and a white bunkbed. There is Sonos, WiFi, Netflix and cable television on the 5 televisions throughout the house. Carroll Park is just over 10 minutes’ walk from the house and has game and picnic tables, a playground, basketball and handball courts and water sprays.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 nights. Safety notes: there are stair gates through most of the house except going to the 3rd floor. There is a baby bath tub and a Stokee Trip Trapp high chair. The house is fairly close to Hamilton Avenue which means traffic passes frequently, although the home is soundproof with a gate at the front. There is a washer / dryer on the 3rd floor. The house includes amenities such as 3-zone central air conditioning, all new appliances and contemporary bathrooms. A car is not necessary to stay here as public transport and taxis are reliable and plentiful.

About the Location

This home is located in Carroll Gardens, a coveted neighborhood for families in Brooklyn with hip boutiques, trendy bars and restaurants and pretty leafy streets with brownstones. Hop on the F train and you are 10 minutes from downtown Manhattan, or choose to stay in Brooklyn and enjoy all of the surrounding neighborhoods. Brooklyn Bridge park is nearby with tons of playgrounds and a water park and Carroll Park is also nearby. There are neighborhood eateries and parks all very close to the house. Newark and JFK are both approximately 50 minutes away by taxi.

The 1st floor is open plan and includes a modern kitchen with a large island seating 4, a dining room seating 8 and a living room with a TV and powder room. The basement has a play space for kids and a seating area and TV. On the second floor is a kingsize primary bedroom with an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub. Also on this level is a nursery with a Kalon studio crib, a glider, changing table and baby toys and books, as well as a kids’ room with bunkbed. There is a family bathroom with a bathtub. On the 4th floor is a queensize suite with its own bathroom with shower, a small kitchen with a beverage fridge and a rooftop decked garden with seating, dining for up to 8 and sun umbrellas.

Style Notes

Contemporary and airy with a Scandinavian feel. This Brooklyn home is brand new and purchased in 2019. There is pretty wallpaper, light wooden floors and designer furniture throughout. The décor is neutral with warm whites, grays and blacks uniting the house and providing a sophisticated feel. All of the bedrooms have cable TVs with sound bars, and there are 2 more TVs in the basement and living room. The kitchen is filled with natural light and has Thermador appliances and a beverage fridge. We love the luxury sheets and towels, the stunning décor, and the Sonos speakers on the top level and in the living room.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

This vibrant, desirable Brooklyn neighborhood is filled with a mix of families and artists with a Euro-American community. Known for its brownstones, tree-lined streets and houses with large and lovely front and back gardens, it’s under half an hour from Manhattan by subway. Local parks are fun for kids - Prospect Park is a short car ride away, while Brooklyn Heights Promenade and waterfront walks are a short walk away, for skyscraper views and ferry trips.
