Perks for the Parents

This style-focused Brooklyn duplex apartment has stunning design details, clever tricks for better family living and is well placed for some of the city’s best foodie haunts, plus playgrounds and family-friendly Carroll Gardens. The master bedroom is roomy and on the upper floor so gives some privacy from the kids room, on the floor below.

Why Kids Love it

The kid's room has a single, elevated bed and a map of the world on the wall to inspire adventure. Kids can use the kids dinnerware if they need/like. There is a powder room on the ground floor so they can easily get to it from the bedroom on the same floor. There are lots and lots of toys and books. A stroller can be provided. Plenty of places to play nearby - Brooklyn Bridge Park, with killer views of Manhattan, an outdoor pool in summer, roller skating, playgrounds and more, is walking distance away.

Things to Know

The residence is in an elevator building and has central air conditioning. It is pet-free and smoke-free. Stairs are not gated and are fairly open; the parents and children's bedrooms are not on the same floor. A rail is provided for the raised kids bed. Located across the street from a public school that allows access to their playground and track off-hours. A block and a half away from the F and G trains into other parts of Brooklyn and Manhattan. Carroll Park - the hotspot for all kids here - is also a block and a half away. The hosts can recommend babysitters.

About the Location

The residence is in Carroll Park, near a great library, local school playground, and some of NYC's best restaurants. There is a subway to Manhattan a block and a half away. There is a green market near Carroll Park on Sundays. JFK and/or LGA are the easiest airports, though Newark works too. As Carroll Gardens is such a family-friendly neighborhood, almost any restaurant is kid-friendly if you are early enough.

Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom, 2-floor apartment is all brand new after a full renovation, with a powder room and child’s bedroom with twin bed on the main floor along with a kitchen, large double-height living space with lounge area and dining table to seat up to 8. Style Notes

Modern, eclectic, fun and a little quirky. After a recent renovation everything is brand new, including the furniture. If you like design and pattern, you'll love this home. It’s comfortable as well as contemporary and stylish. Spot the Brooklyn Toile wallpaper by Mike D in the powder room and Brooklyn-based Flat Vernacular wallpaper up the stairs. Gorgeous high-end details include Heath Ceramics tile in the kitchen and a handmade dining table.

We very much enjoyed our Easter stay. I appreciated that everything felt clean and we had room to have our stuff around w/o disturbing the family's personal items. My 5 year old was so happy to play with the toys that were so generously left out for him to play. The neighborhood is great. I definitely recommend it as a place to stay.

We had the best time staying in Carroll Gardens and have never enjoyed a trip to Brooklyn with our two kids (3+1) more! The apartment is beautifully designed, is right across from the school (and playground) and just a few blocks from Carroll Park. Not only did we have great recommendations from Stacey on where to go + eat, we had nothing but positive interactions at the parks + in restaurants. It was so nice to have a place that felt like home as well as toys to entertain the kids and I would go back in a heartbeat!

We had a lovely stay here! The President Residence is clean and comfortable and in a super family-friendly location. Stacey provided us with a list of great local restaurant recommendations. Our older son would've been happy to play all day with the many toys provided, but once we got outside he was also thrilled to scoot along the quiet streets of Carroll Garden and to explore the neighborhood and big city beyond. Wonderful experience!

Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn

Brownstones, delis and gorgeous gardens

This vibrant, desirable Brooklyn neighborhood is filled with a mix of families and artists with a Euro-American community. Known for its brownstones, tree-lined streets and houses with large and lovely front and back gardens, it’s under half an hour from Manhattan by subway. Local parks are fun for kids - Prospect Park is a short car ride away, while Brooklyn Heights Promenade and waterfront walks are a short walk away, for skyscraper views and ferry trips.
