The Acra Residence

Kieran’s home is absolutely beautiful and picture perfect! There were jack-o-lanterns and fresh flowers when we arrived. There were amazing toys and games to play with. The yard is spectacular…. Apple trees, rocking chairs, a fire, grill, badminton, leaves to jump in, etc. It was picture perfect and we cannot wait to go back! Thank you!

Perfectly Perfect !

A wonderful peaceful escape! My husband, three year old son, sister, and parents enjoyed an early August extended weekend at the Acra house. It's a lovely old farmhouse, with gorgeous shared spaces both indoor and outdoor. We loved lounging in the hammock (my son enjoyed pretending it was a ship on rocky waves), eating by candlelight at the big farmhouse table and outback in the pergola area, making s'mores, and generally resting. My son loved the bunk beds and ample toys (esp blocks and trucks). Kieran shared a lot of tips with us about restaurants and places for kids. They were a bit of a drive (20-30 min) but we expected this; we especially loved checking out Hudson. Thanks for a great stay!

The Acra residence is by far my favorite place to stay. The home is gorgeous, and perfectly suited to a long family weekend. It's incredibly clean and welcoming and has everything you need...with lovely extra touches throughout, like plenty of fresh towels, Sonos, and an outdoor grill. We can't wait to be back!

The Acra Residence is wonderful. The house is gorgeous, can't decide which room is our favorite because they were all special. The outdoors is lovely. It doesn't feel like you have to rush out to do something because stepping out and walking around the land felt like you're already exploring. Kieran was very responsive, warm and welcoming.

Stayed here for a few nights with friends and cannot express enough how lovely the home is. The property is beautiful and the home impeccable. Kieran was super responsive and provided us with a great write up of the property and things to do locally prior to our arrival. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely love to visit again.

Where do i start? The house is out of a magazine. Every touch has been thought about from the kitchen to the kids rooms. We visited with friends and despite the weather being atrocious, we all had an amazing time - even the four toddlers who we travelled with! Kieran was an amazing host and did everything to make sure we were comfy including leaving us a bottle of wine, kids toys and ideas for the area. We will be back with better weather! Matt

Had a girls weekend and this place was magical! We arrived to a nice bottle of wine from the owners. We were smitten with every detail in the home. We loved hanging outside and the view of the beautiful barn. Coffee tasted even better on the front porch sitting on the rocking chairs. We cannot wait to visit again!

Pictures simply do not do this place justice! It is large and sprawling with a big enough common area (and dining table!) for everyone to gather, but with very private/separate sleeping quarters (important for sleeping kids!). The decor is beautiful and relaxing but COZY. Waking up here felt like a dream. It’s also a really reasonable distance from both Hudson and Saugerties, so we did both easily. Kieran was such a kind and attentive host, and I have recommended this place to so many families looking for a magical little getaway in the Hudson Valley area.

This was the best rental I've ever stayed at. This house has everything and the hosts couldn't be more thoughtful and considerate. It's also BEAUTIFUL and not a detail is missed. We loved our stay! Thank you!

We had such a lovely and magical weekend away at The Acra Residence. Kieran and her family clearly have put a lot of love and care into this home, and it's warmth and coziness was felt and appreciated by our family and friends. Kieran was very communicative, easy to reach and helpful with all the details I was curious about in planning for the weekend. We settled in immediately making great food (the kitchen is so well stocked with everything you need to cook / bake / serve!) and enjoying the many little nooks and spots in the house to curl up and play a game, read a book, or just enjoy the sunlight moving across the walls. A gem of a spot, that even in the drudges of winter was lovely and magical - I'm betting in all other times of year are awesome. Hope to visit again someday!

We loved this house and will definitely book in the future! We booked it for a ski trip for Windham Mountain. It was a convenient ride to the slopes. The house is tastefully appointed and fit two families (4 kids total, ages 2,3,4 and 12) comfortably. Everything you need to make a great dinner (fully fit out kitchen), watch a movie, or entertain kids for hours is here. There are lots of toys and games that kids of all ages enjoyed. The decor is really cozy and beautiful. We spent hours in front of the fireplace playing games (adults and kids).

My family of 7 stayed at the Acra Residence at the peak of beautiful Autumn. This is our second time and loved it as much as our first. It is clean, spacious, and feels like home. Due to the COVID situation we mainly stayed outside on the property taking walks along the trail, playing games with the children and of course camp fires in the evening. Kieran left s'more fixings which the little ones were ecstatic about. At the end of our stay we always give out awards and the 3 1/2 year old received, "BEST Marshmallow Eater". The house is so comfortable for everyone and plenty of space for adults and children. There is great hiking in the area as well as apple and pumpkin picking. After everyone arrived home my granddaughters (5 1/2 and 3 1/2) said they had so so much fun and can't wait to go again! This was the ultimate compliment for us all to hear and we all totally agree!

One of our top favorite home rentals of ALL times. Beautiful home, chic, clean perfectly equipped and Kieran could not be more responsive, thoughtful and welcoming. We'll be back for sure.

We had a wonderful stay at the Acra Residence! The house was just as beautiful in person as in the pictures, and our family especially enjoyed playing in the lovely outdoor space. Kieran was also very responsive and helpful before and during our trip as well.

The house has everything you could need for a relaxing vacation with the family. My wife, two young children and I had a wonderful time playing in the yard, reading books in the hammock, and grilling out on the patio. Evening walks on the path through the backyard were a great way to wind down at the end of the day. In addition, Kieran is a wonderful host and clearly pays attention to the details, which we greatly appreciated. Five-star review.

Our second time staying at Acra and it is still by far my favorite of all the places we've rented on this or other sites. The house is spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated and the kitchen particularly well stocked. Lots of other thoughtful, generous touches throughout. We all slept well! The property is just stunning - the trees, red barn, orchard and hammock - so peaceful and picture perfect. It was a treat waking up every morning and bringing a cup of coffee out to the porch to sit and enjoy the views. There is a lovely patio area also with a grill and lots of seating. The boys (aged 10) had a blast playing soccer, exploring the woody part of the property with us and looking for salamanders and worms after it had rained. Kieran is terrific - very accessible, responsive and flexible. Highly recommend.

This house was impeccable. The warmth of the decor gave this old home so much charm. Every detail was carefully curated to make guests feel at home. The dining area was large and comfortably fit our group of eight. Toys were neatly found in baskets throughout the house, so that each common area offered something fun for the kids to explore. We skied at Windham (only a 15 min drive) and the mudroom area of the home made it easy to unload all of our ski gear. The host answered all of our questions, and was kind in each and every response. We would highly recommend staying at this home, it's a perfect little getaway spot, which feels luxurious!

Fantastic house, amazing host, very close to skiing.

Loved our stay at the Acra residence. We stayed at the residence with two other families (six adults, five kids ranging from one to six years old). There was enough room for everyone, with space to spare. Very thoughtful details throughout and beautifully appointed. The kids (NYC dwellers) loved the outside area, and we built a bonfire and made s'mores. The heating in one area of the house did not work when we arrived, and the host Kieran sent a plumber to the house that day to fix it. Kieran was very a great communicator and made the entire experience seamless.

Fantastic place for big families. Backyard has amazing views and you’ll probably want to stay outside all the time, but for the interior design indoors that makes the house so appealing. Kitchen was stacked with everything possibly needed, and the place was nice and clean. Kieran was also very responsive and attentive to detail. Absolutely will come back soon!

This home and property was so beautiful. Very peaceful and quiet. Love how light and bright it is on the inside and the rocking chairs on the porch were amazing. Pretty views - would highly recommend!

Kieran's modern farmhouse is absolutely gorgeous. She has impeccable taste and we felt so at home there. We went with 3 other couples. Our toddler had a blast playing outside and the hammock was a bonus. Of course the kids' rooms in the house had more than enough toys to keep her occupied too. The outdoor dining space and grill was also perfect for outdoor dining and we used the outdoor fire pit for s'mores. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

This home was such a delight to stay in. So cozy, and all the decor and little touches were positively dreamy! Kieran was an excellent host - great with communication and left a lovely basket of goodies for our arrival. Our son was delighted with a spacious home to explore and lots of toys to play with. The home is in a great location - close to the town of Hudson, which we frequented often for restaurants and shopping, and a great base for exploring the Catskills and other towns in the Hudson Valley. A true gem of a place that made our vacation such a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

Our stay at the Acra Residence was memorable from the welcoming basket to the overall comfortable feel of the spectacular space. Your attention to detail with the fully stocked kitchen of plates, utensils, pots/pans, toys, outdoor fire pit, magazines, pack n’ play and large yard made for a relaxing getaway. My whole family loved the Catskills and your home!

Just beautiful. We absolutely loved it. The attention to detail in the house, the style and comfort exceeded our expectations. Our boys loved running around the garden, exploring and most of all the fire pit in the evening. The location was great too for some good hikes and fishing! The Acra Residence was spectacular! The home is beautifully decorated and appointed. The photos don't do it justice. We enjoyed all of our meals on the back veranda and the backyard was the highlight of this property for us. We hope to visit again soon!

We couldn't have been more pleased with the house, garden and helpfulness of the host. It was unexpectedly hot during our stay, Kieran overnighted an extra AC unasked. House was comfortable and beautiful, perfectly accommodating our young family.

Stunning home and attentive, communicative host! Kieran is a delight and the house continues to improve with the addition of a full bathroom and expansion of a what was once a smaller children's bedroom.

We had an absolutely wonderful time in Kieran's dreamy Catskills home. We had three couples with three babies, and we were thrilled to discover that the great room is far enough from the bedrooms that the kids could sleep while their parents stayed up late and made some noise (a baby monitor Kieran thoughtfully supplied came in handy). Looking forward to another trip up soon!

This home is perfect, and only improves with each visit! This is our third visit and we're already planning a return. Spacious, perfectly appointed with a wonderful and responsive host!

Kieran has done an AMAZING job making this home just stunning. Every nook and cranny is beautifully curated and perfectly equipped for a wonderful stay. We came up here for a girls weekend with 7 girls and there was plenty of room for all of us. We loved hanging out in the grand room and sitting around the large farmhouse table for meals. Watching a movie on the projector was a special treat. The only challenge is that there is only 1 full bathroom (hence the four stars on family friendliness), which is located on the second floor between two of the bedrooms. If you had multiple families staying here, bathing lots of kids could be a challenge and some adults may not like having to share one shower/bath. Other than that, I would highly recommend staying at the Acra Residence. We expect to be back!

This house is nothing short of wonderful! We stayed with two other families with younger kids and everyone had plenty of space to do their own things. Very grateful for the small details like baby gates and a bazillion toys and books and plates and towels. When you walk through the yard, the wild thyme sets off the best scent too!

Stunning house and grounds, both stylish and comfortable and very kid friendly. We were 2 families including 4 adults, 3 very spirited 7 year old boys and a 15- month old. Indoor space was more than ample and we all slept very soundly. Kids loved exploring the wide open space. Owners were kind enough to allow us to pick some apples from their trees (delicious!). We hung out mostly outdoors, at the table or by the fire pit (a big hit with the kids) or hammock. Kieran couldn’t have been more helpful and responsive. Views must be even spectacular when leaves turn in the fall. We would LOVE to go back!!

We rented the home for a week with our boys aged 3 and 5. The house was super comfortable and hands-down the best stocked house I have ever rented (and we've rented quite a bit). Lots of thoughtful touches throughout. The kids were thrilled to be able to run around and explore freely. I was thrilled to have a beautiful, peaceful place to chill out and relax without my cell phone attached to me. The projector was a huge hit with the kids and we did evening movie time and smores in the fire pit almost every night! If you like farmhouse style, you will not be disappointed. The home is perfectly decorated and full of little nooks and crannies to read one of the many books in the house. Kieran is a gracious host. We are already planning a return.

This was our second stay at the Acra Residence and it was such a dream. The house is fully stocked to meet your needs and the needs of your kiddos. The hammock, outdoor space and fire pit are the highlights. We are already talking about making this an annual tradition.

Kieran’s beautiful house is perfect for family getaways. Her kitchen was stocked with everything I would use at home and she has child friendly utensils and dinnerware. We loved little nooks everywhere and the hammock was a favorite. My kids loved playing with ‘new’ Toys and we loved watching a movie on the wall. Truly one of a kind experience. We hope to return someday.

Kieran's house and property were absolutely amazing!! We were two families with 6 kids ranging in ages from 2-11. The kids had plenty to keep busy, and the hammock was a favorite as well as the attic loft bedroom... Kitchen is well equipped for cooking, which we did for most of our meals. A beautiful home that is perfect for a couple of families to stay. The provision of stair gates was very helpful given we had young kids not able to navigate stairs on their own. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed all the toys in the house. Our kids loving running all around and exploring the property!

We spent an incredible weekend at the Acra Residence with our 18-month old. After some unexpected snow that week it felt like we were in a winter wonderland - plus the skiing at nearby Windham was an unexpected bonus in March. Kieran was extremely attentive from the moment we booked and we'd feel very lucky to go back in the future. Their kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed great meals at the house. The great room with the projector was perfect for night time movie watching. We had everything we needed at our disposal!

We LOVE this house !! It is bright and airy, and cozy and beautiful. Everything in there is thoughtful in aesthetic and use. We had the perfect supplies to entertain kids, and entertain friends in the kitchen. Kieran was accommodating and helpful. We are dying to rent it again when its warm out and we can make more use of the property !

What a beautiful home and delightful place! Kieran was an excellent host - made everything extremely simple, welcoming. Even had a bottle of wine waiting for us! I wish we could have stayed longer. Very convenient to the grocery store and to Windham & Hunter Mountains. The wood stove was wonderful and the kitchen has everything you need to make cooking easy and enjoyable - a rarity in a rental. The house is immaculately designed and decorated and a pleasure to stay in. This is the best rental property I have ever stayed in! Thank you, Kieran!!!

Another wonderful stay with at Kieran's lovely home!

This home and host are exceptional! We've now had two stays here in Kieran's home. The entire house is well-appointed, with a fantastic well-equipped kitchen where we cooked many a meal. The outside fire pit is a fun, marshmallow worthy treat for children and adults alike. The house is spacious and provides ample opportunity to break away and find a private nook. Our kids had great outdoor fun exploring the barn, chicken coop and the refurbished outdoor shed, which they promptly turned into a clubhouse. Kieran is highly responsive and a wonderful host!

I absolutely loved this house! We stayed for a weekend and everything was perfect. Kieran was available to answer all my questions and was so kind. The house decor was so nicely done and so cozy. We used the outside firepit which was a highlight and also did a lot of cooking in their beautiful and well equipped kitchen. I hope to make it back to this house again this year, I really loved it!

The Acra Residence was nothing short of spectacular. The property is incredible and we found it very relaxing to enjoy the hammock while our daughters frolicked across the acres of land. WE absolutely loved this house! Worth making an excuse to travel to the area just to stay here. I could go on an on, but to be as brief as possible- the house was absolutely beautiful as were the grounds. All the beds were extremely comfortable, the living areas were perfect for our group to play in between events (we were in town for a friends wedding). The outdoors is amazing as well- we enjoyed exploring the flowery fields and running around to play outside. Everything is as as pictured, if not more beautiful. The host were wonderful and helpful making our stay absolutely perfect. Would love to return here someday!

Charming country house in Hudson Valley! My family rented it for the weekend as a getaway from NYC and it was perfect. Beautifully decorated and Kieran couldn't have been sweeter! We would certainly come back.

On arrival, the Acra residence was love at first sight. As you walk into this impeccable home your immediately set at ease and feel like you entered into a warm and cozy haven. Kieran has thought of everything. You can find Kieran in all the details of the home, Fresh flowers and beautiful smelling candles were left for us, along with a bottle of wine and snacks for the kids! The house is well appointed, perfectly organized, easy to find things. The children loved all the basket of toys she had around the house. We all had a wonderful time and slept comfortable in the house. The house is very quiet and peaceful surrounded by acres and acres of beautiful property. Its the perfect home for all seasons. We had a wonderful time in near by Hudson Ny, with many restaurants and shopping. This home is a top notch and true gem, I would love to come back and stay again as we really enjoyed it. Thank you for making our stay feel so comfortable, we truly had a wonderful time.

Kieran is a perfect host - her home is stunningly beautiful, in a great location, and stocked with toys galore! We spent a weekend in November - our boys were in heaven romping outside in the fields and swinging in the hammock. They loved the children's bedroom and baskets of toys placed all over the house. The projection screen was a huge hit. We could have a a glass of wine in the great room and enjoy the fire while the kids played or watched a movie. The layout is fantastic - you can see the children playing outside from the living room, and can watch them play from one end of the house to another while cooking dinner. Great for young kids. The bedrooms are spacious with beautiful linens and so comfortable. All we had to bring was ourselves, the house is very well equipped. She really thought of every detail, and put out fresh flowers, towels and wine for us tired parents (yay!). Loved our stay and would be thrilled to visit again.
