Perks for the Parents

The Pinch won't hurt an inch. In fact quite the opposite. Settle into your room or suite and rest assured that you won't miss your actual home for a second or even ever maybe. Fully equipped / fully stunning kitchens are in every room and suite plus washers and dryers so keeping your team fed, watered, and clean is a breeze especially if you take advantage of the grocery stocking service and itinerary planning help from the stellar concierge team.

Why Kids Love it

The hotel has a bike share program that families can enjoy to explore the city on wheels and the concierge can help arrange for an outing to sightsee on a private yacht. A horse and carriage ride is touristy but fun with kids of all ages. The South Carolina Aquarium is a 6 minute cab ride away or a leisurely 20 minute walk. Kids will also love a trip to the beach - Sullivan's Island is only 20 minutes away by car. Kids will love TV in the bedroom for cozy, down time after a full day of exploring.

Things to Know

Accommodations are available on a daily, weekly, and even monthly basis. 4pm check-in is guaranteed (11am check-out). On-site valet parking is $49 per day with unlimited in and out privileges. The Pinch does not offer additional bedding options like cots or rollaways so you may need to bring a travel crib if you've got a little babe.

About the Location

Located in the heart of downtown Charleston on the bustling intersection of King & George Street in the Ansonborough neighborhood, The Pinch is situated in a prime location just steps away from high-end retail shops, a vibrant dining scene, the College of Charleston and close to many historical attractions. Children's Museum of the Lowcountry is only 10 minutes away by foot and if you need to grab a bite don't miss Callie's Hot Little Biscuit on Upper King. Wander the waterfront park and end your stroll on Rainbow Row, one of Charleston's prettiest streets - located conveniently close to Hazel Parker Playground.

Accommodation Details

The Pinch has 24 rooms and suites most of which are one-bedrooms so ideally suited to co-sleeping families who are happy to share a king-sized bed. If you need more space for your gang book the two-bedroom corner suite which has 2 bedrooms (a king and a queen), and 2 bathrooms. Enter the 2-bedroom suite via the fully equipped kitchen complete with dining table for 6 which is open plan next to a large living room with TV.

Style Notes

We love the cream-grey plaster walls, funky wallpaper, and thoughtful choices of fittings and furnishings. Victorian heritage buildings are offset by modern comforts, making The Pinch a beautiful and homey gem in the heart of Charleston's historic district.

Charleston, South Carolina

Pastel buildings, cobblestone streets and history around each corner

Beautiful beaches, stunning architecture and genuine dose of southern charm make Charleston a fabulous place to visit with kids. Get your instagram game on point ready for the pastel buildings, cobblestone streets and horse-drawn carriages, and be sure not to miss dolphins playing in the harbour, The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (ideal for little kids), and Fort Sumter, where the Civil War began. Ghost tours and pirate tours are a great way to bring the area’s colorful history to life for older kids, when you need a change from a day at the beach.
