Perks for the Parents
A clean and contemporary family home in Daniel Island, Charleston with its own putting green, dedicated kids rooms and plenty of parks nearby. It sleeps 8 + 1. This house has so much to offer for kids and parents alike. It’s a great home for active families, with lots of outdoor activities to get involved with (the island is surrounded by vast expanses of water for kayaking and paddle boarding) as well as a 5-hole putting green in the backyard and a Peloton bike for at-home workouts. Guests have access to the community pool and there are shops and restaurants nearby for easy family meals. The backyard was recently finished with astroturf, making the backyard a clean and comfortable space to spend time with the kids, and there’s a grill and dining table for those warm evenings.
Why Kids Love it
The residence has plenty of toys and books for children under 10 and the living room is large enough for big toys. Parents with babies or toddlers will be happy to find a baby monitor, changing table, children’s utensils, high chair and a travel crib (and the hosts can help with sourcing other baby essentials too, such as car seats or pack-and-plays - just ask!). It’s a very short walk to at least 3 playgrounds and 3 swimming pools in the local area, which is filled with parks, picnic tables, playing fields, gardens, gazebos and other green spaces. Trails wind through maritime forest and along the water’s edge offering scenic views and a safe and convenient environment for walking with buggies, scooters or cycling.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 6 nights. Safety notes: there is a gate from the driveway to the backyard, which is fully fenced in. The driveway will hold 3 cars - car hire is useful for exploring Downtown and Local Beaches but if you want to stay on Daniel Island, the area is highly walkable. The hosts have 2 adult bikes and multiple bikes for young children - a bike shop down the street also provides rentals and can assist with repairs. Ask the hosts about additional housekeeping during your stay, or hiring a fun 6-seater golf cart to get around ($100 per day).
About the Location
The property is located on the South Side of Daniel Island in Charleston, South Carolina. It’s 20 minutes’ drive from Mt Pleasant or North Charleston and less than half an hour into downtown Charleston. Daniel Island is about 15 minutes from CHS international airport and 20 minutes from 2 of Charleston's most famous beaches - Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island. There is a New York style Pizza Shop, cafe, and a bar and grille all less than a mile away. Daniel Island has more than 7 parks, 12 miles of walking trails, 23 miles of beautiful rivers, a tennis center, and one of the top country clubs/golf courses in the United States, The Daniel Island Club.
Accommodation Details
The house has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. A primary bedroom has a kingsize bed; the second bedroom has a queensize bed; the final 2 bedrooms are ideal for kids, with 2 twin beds in each room (one room is set up with a single and a trundle bed underneath). There is a large family bathroom with a bathtub and walk-in shower, as well as a smaller bathroom with a shower-over-bath. Outside there is a spacious front porch and a sprawling back yard adorned with artificial turf.
Style Notes
Clean cut. Large windows light up the vaulted ceiling in the living room, which leads to the open kitchen, furnished with white marble counters and white cabinets to create a truly classic space. Hardwood floors and sleek updated bathrooms add to the fresh, clean look, while bright neutral colors appear calming and restful. We love the nautical-inspired kids room, the elegant high windows in the living room and the traditional pillared porch, the perfect spot for a morning coffee.

Charleston, South Carolina
Pastel buildings, cobblestone streets and history around each corner
Beautiful beaches, stunning architecture and genuine dose of southern charm make Charleston a fabulous place to visit with kids. Get your instagram game on point ready for the pastel buildings, cobblestone streets and horse-drawn carriages, and be sure not to miss dolphins playing in the harbour, The Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry (ideal for little kids), and Fort Sumter, where the Civil War began. Ghost tours and pirate tours are a great way to bring the area’s colorful history to life for older kids, when you need a change from a day at the beach.
