Perks for the Parents

This pretty stone cottage is perfect for a family with up to 2 small children and is just a short walk from the sand and pebble beaches of Charlestown. The house is historic but the kitchen is fully renovated with all mod cons and beautiful Cornishware. There is a cosy wood burner in the oak-floored sitting room and the TV has a built-in DVD player. A unique Georgian building on the quay is available to guests for a private candlelit dinner. The thoughtful owners, Antonia and David, can help with everything from babysitters to home-cooked meals and an in-home spa experience. Luxurious touches include White Company linens and blankets.

Why Kids Love it

The second bedroom has a unique pirate/princess high sleeper bed, sleeping up to 2 kids. A travel crib can be added. There is a larger front lawn and a small back yard for playing in. Nearby activities are family-oriented: there are 2 beaches in Charlestown, plus ice cream shops, a small and quirky Shipwreck museum and boats in the harbor. The Eden Project, Cornwall’s most-visited family attraction, is just a short drive away. Babycare items include: socket covers, baby monitor, sterilizer, change mat, stair gates, Trip Trapp high chair, JoJo Maman Bebe play mats, travel crib, dinnerware, potty, McLaren single stroller, baby bath and a food blender.

Style Notes

Seaside romance and modern touches. This cottage is packed with design details to remind you of the sea: gilded frames, parts of boats and oil paintings of stormy seas. Luxurious touches include White Company linens and blankets. We love the cosy feel, the heavy window shutters, the custom-built bed and antiques.

We had an amazing stay, Antonia was super helpful and we found the cottage to be perfect as a base to explore Cornwall. We are already planning to go back next year.
