Perks for the Parents

This pair of exquisitely renovated Grade II listed buildings in the garden of a Georgian villa in Charlestown is the perfect getaway for a couple with a baby or child. Ideally suited to those with younger children, plenty of babycare items are included so you can travel light. A unique Georgian building on the quay is available to guests for a private candlelit dinner. The thoughtful owners, Antonia and David, can help with everything from babysitters to home-cooked meals and an in-home spa experience. Luxurious touches include White Company linens and blankets. It’s easy to explore the southern Cornwall coast and only 35 minutes or so by car to the surf beaches on the north coast. It is a short walk with a stroller to pubs and the seashore.

Why Kids Love it

When it’s sunny, you can relax in the garden, put the play mat under the huge sail and listen to the sound of the sea. Nearby activities are family-oriented: there are 2 beaches in Charlestown, plus ice cream shops, a small museum and boats in the harbor. The Eden Project, Cornwall’s most-visited family attraction, is just a short drive away. This is the perfect pint-sized home for little tots, and is particularly well kitted out for babies and toddlers, with provisions including: socket covers, baby monitor, sterilizer, change mat, stair gates, Trip Trapp high chair, JoJo Maman Bebe play mats, travel crib, dinnerware, potty, McLaren single stroller, baby bath and food blender.

Accommodation Details

This pair of Grade II listed, completely renovated cabins is in the grounds of a Georgian house in Charlestown. One cabin contains a kitchen and dining area with table, sofa, WiFi, TV and DVD while the other has a bedroom with kingsize bed and a bathroom with power shower. There is a private lawned garden, courtyard dining space and a canopy covering the space between the 2 cabins so you can walk between them without getting wet if it is raining.

Style Notes

Snug, quirky and full of seaside charm. The modern white uncluttered kitchen has everything you could need, including a wood burning stove; the bathroom has a power shower and there is a WC with a sea view. The bedroom is uncluttered and quiet. The sunny private courtyard and flower-filled garden are attractive. We love the atelier feel in the kitchen/dining area and the fact that you can hear the sea from the courtyard while you’re relaxing.
