This lovingly-renovated cottage has bags of Old Cape charm and is well set up for a family trip, with beautiful bedrooms, a large garden and a patio for entertaining. Located on a quiet street yet close to Chatham and the Cape’s key attractions, not to mention beaches, it makes for an easy vacation stay. There is a well equipped gourmet kitchen, central heating and air conditioning and all essentials bar beach towels are provided. The master bedroom is elegant and has a queen bed.

Why Kids Love it

Kids dishes, toys, and games and some kids beach equipment are provided. There is a half acre garden, partly wooded, around the lot, ideal for playing hide and seek or tag. The kids have a choice of bedrooms - a bright room with 2 twin beds and a beach cottage theme, or a nautically themed bunk bed room. The lounge has board games and a 40” TV for movie nights. The closest beach is under a mile away - close enough to walk, however old you are!

Things to Know

The cottage is on 1 story with minimal child safety hazards. On the exterior there is a set of bulkhead doors that lead to the basement, but they are heavy and hard to open. The patio has a grill. There is cable TV. Comforters/blankets, linens, pillows, paper goods, and cleaning products are provided, but remember to bring your own beach towels. No crib/ high chair provided.

About the Location

Hardings Beach is less than 1 mile away. There is a Stop and Shop Grocery store under 3 miles away. The residence is on a private road and quiet, yet close to beaches and shopping. Boston Logan International is the largest major airport and about 90 mins away. A bus and train service runs out of Hyannis, MA which is about 30 mins away. The area is a 4.5-6 hour drive from New York City, depending on traffic.

Accommodation Details

There are 3 bedrooms, with a queen bed, 2 twin beds, and a full (bottom) /twin (top) bunk bed, plus a gourmet kitchen, comfortable living space, sandroom with easy access to an outdoor shower, bluestone patio right off the kitchen with dining area, and ½ acre garden. The bathroom has a full sized shower and bathtub.

Style Notes

This beautiful home has a mix of beach chic and cozy cottage style, with nautical touches in the bedrooms and a contemporary kitchen with fun orange Tolix chairs around a solid walnut table. Design details include a rope ‘beach’ sign in the twin room and an oar hung on the wall in the lounge. Best of all is the sunny back yard, with patio and Adirondack chairs.

This house was really well-equipped. Our family loved the attention to detail! Would definitely recommend for a family of 4 or 5.

We loved our stay at Meadowview. The house was perfect for our three-person family. It was on a lovely plot of land, modern, and *super* clean (which I especially appreciate). Our son told everyone in the Cape about his amazing "lighthouse" bed. The only downside was that we're used to being more central to Orleans—which is where we're used to hanging out—but this house was so great for us, it was worth the extra driving we did, and we enjoyed exploring Chatham too. We hope to return back next year! Suzanne, Joshua & Oliver (6), from Brooklyn, NY

Wow we had such a great week at the house. It was perfect for our family- situated on a lovely quiet road set back aways so that our kids could play on the lawn, and the house is all on one level which was perfect for our 10-month old for crawling around in. The house itself is pristene, and fully equipped. Loved it.

I am actually back on Kid&Coe to see when we are able to rent this property for another stay. We had a wonderful time. The home was the perfect size, clean and fun. Even though we went when it was still a bit chilly out we were out in the yard each day first thing. When I got in touch with the owners they responded right away and were so helpful. We will stay here again as soon as we are able to match our calendar with available dates!

Chatham, Cape Cod

Seals, beaches and the catch of the day

On the southeast tip of the Cape, this small historic town has beaches, a lighthouse and plenty of family fun at its heart. Watch the catch of the day come in at Fish Pier, cycle the Old Colony Rail trail or hire a boat to find a beach to yourselves for the day.
