This reverse-level home uses its elevated position to offer the most breathtaking views of the bay, all the way up to Godrevy lighthouse and the North Cornwall coast. With 5 bedrooms there’s enough space for the whole family, plus one bedroom upstairs for parents to have some privacy. You can reach local pubs, fish-and-chip shops and the beach on foot so you won’t have to join the busy Cornwall traffic on summer days, too.

Why Kids Love it

Children can play freely on the large square lawned area with those outstanding sea views, and the hosts have a selection of books, games and DVDs for kids to use during their stay. If they ever tire of Carbis Bay beach, there are plenty of family-friendly days out nearby. The Tate St Ives (6 minutes’ drive) showcases iconic 20th century art and the Boathouse Theater (10 minutes’ drive) hosts plays and puppet shows throughout the year. The whole family will love visiting St Michael’s Mount, a historic castle on the water which can only be accessed on foot at low tide. Don’t miss a drive up the coast to Godrevy to spot seals in the sea!

Safety notes: there is a steep stepped feature terraced wall at the rear of the property. The house has eco underfloor central heating, an Electric Rangemaster oven and hob, additional fridge, two 4K ultra HD TV's with freeview and Soundbar. Please request whether you’d like zip and link beds to be made as twin beds or kingsize.

About the Location

The property is located in the seaside town of Carbis Bay, known for its beautiful white sand beach and turquoise waters, as well as opportunities for swimming, boating, surfing, rock climbing and tennis. The beach (and access to the South West Coastal Path) is 20 minutes away on foot. Carbis Bay train station is also 20 minutes’ walk. It’s less than 10 minutes’ drive to St Ives, which is full of restaurants, a weekly Thursday farmers market, and cultural spots such as the Tate and the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. Take the kids for a day out at Paradise Park in Hayle (10 minutes’ drive) - an award-winning wildlife sanctuary with JungleBarn indoor play center.

Accommodation Details

The house has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. The heart of the home is upstairs - the open plan kitchen, dining and living area, framed by south facing windows. The dining area offers a table to seat 10, while the living area has 2 four-seater Tetrad Sofas. Also on the first floor is 1 of 2 primary kingsize bedrooms, with an ensuite shower room. This level also has access to the sun deck. The remaining bedrooms are all located downstairs on the ground floor. The second primary kingsize room also has an ensuite shower room, as well as bi-fold doors. The snug (which doubles up as bedroom 5), is ideal for kids, with a double sofabed. The remaining 2 bedrooms also have super kingsize beds, with the option of converting to twin beds. This floor also has the family bathroom, with a shower-over-bathtub, and the utility room.

Style Notes

Rooms with a view. The exterior of the house seamlessly blends reclaimed local stone and natural cedar cladding. It is punctuated with full length panoramic windows offering plenty of light and stunning views from within the house. The thoughtful approach to design is visible throughout the house: the kitchen features a fully integrated kitchen and the carefully-placed windows. We love the contemporary floor-to-ceiling windows in the living space, the subtle coastal textiles and the natural external stone walls.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 12 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 12 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 12 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
A non-refundable 30% deposit is required to make a booking (or full payment if booking within 12 weeks of arrival). If you have paid a deposit, the final balance is payable 12 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday. Once this has been paid, it is non-refundable.
