Perks for the Parents

No need to decide between mountain and sea views when you can have both (and so much more) at Villa Alzitella. This private, 3-bedroom, gem of a house has air-conditioning and a kidney-shaped swimming pool which can be heated for a charge if you really want to gild the lily. There is a gas barbecue outside plus a fully equipped kitchen complete with an electric stovetop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and washing machine. You can have it all here - a private escape, a perfect port town, daydream-worthy beaches, and spectacular food and drink all within a stone's throw.

Why Kids Love it

You'll be hard-pressed to pull the kids from the pool - it's pretty darn extra fabulous with warm, wooden decking all around spanning the length of the house. Hard-pressed until you take them to one of many stunning, soft, sandy beaches nearby (the closest, Santa Giulia Beach, is a 10-minute drive away). Older kids might be wowed by the history of the surrounding area (we're talking Napolean Bonaparte's home turf here). There are gorgeous waterfalls, mountain springs, and canyons nearby to explore too.

Things to Know

There is a minimum 7-night stay which does not include a mid-stay clean or bed linen/towel change (2-weeks and up does). Additional cleaning can be arranged (subject to availability) for €25/hour with a 2-hour minimum. A rental car is a must in this location and can be arranged via the host who can also provide car seats and booster seats for a supplement. Toddlers will keep you on your toes here given the swimming pool at the heart of the home and the contemporary corners on the glass-topped coffee table.

About the Location

Corsica is the most mountainous island in the Mediterranean with over a third of the land protected by nature reserves. Villa Alzitella is located on a hillside just below the village of Pietra Longa di Salvini which is on the southern end of Corsica just across the Strait of Bonifacio from the neighboring Italian island of Sardinia. Porto Vecchio is a buzzing port town complete with boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and plenty of people-watching.

Accommodation Details

This 3-bedroom property sleeps up to 6 guests. You enter the property and are immediately blown away by the stunning views through the French doors in the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen. All the slick modern comforts are there with a cozy, gray sofa, TV (French channels only), and dining table plus bar-stool seating over by the kitchen. To the left of the granite-finished kitchen is a double-bedroom with its own en-suite shower room. To the right of the living area is a twin bedroom on the pool side of the property. This twin room shares a shower room with the third bedroom (a double) on the mountain side of the property.

Style Notes

Crisp and contemporary amidst ancient nature. The modern kitchen with granite countertops and lacquered cabinetry has all the modern appliances you need to take care of your family. We love the juxtaposition of the traditional, red French roof tiles and the rustic setting with the slick, modern interiors and pristine, shady veranda. Oh and the pool, did we mention we love the pool with the jaw-dropping views of the mountains and the coast?

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
If cancelled 61-300 days before arrival, 30% of the total booking amount will be retained as a cancellation fee. If cancelled 0 – 60 days before arrival, 100% charge of the total booking amount will be retained. In addition to the host’s policy which is listed here, all cancellations are subject to a Kid & Coe cancellation fee of 10% of the booking total.
