The large backyard is perfect for spontaneous football or soccer games, and the den is ideal for cozy chill-out time. Older kids will love exploring the spectacular hiking trails nearby: check out Sam’s Point lake and waterfall. Sam’s Point (10 min drive) offers free snow shoeing lessons during winter. Further afield, the kids will love a trip to the SplashDown water park on the Hudson River (just under 1 hour away).

About the Location

The house is located in the exclusive hamlet of Cragsmoor, just 1 hour 45 minutes’ drive from the hustle and bustle of New York City (80 miles from the George Washington Bridge). Legoland New York is around half an hour away, as is the Holiday Mountain Ski Resort in Monticello, which offers winter ski and snow tubing, plus go-karting and mini golf in the summer. The town of Ellenville (10 minutes' drive) has great restaurants, Kelder's farm with kids' activities and is a premier hang gliding destination in NY. The closest international airports are in NYC and this area has no public transport so a car is essential.

Style Notes

Scandinavian Chic. This beautiful home is light and airy, with sunlight streaming in from every room. There’s a strong mid-century style here, with statement pieces and contemporary art on the walls - creating a subtle mix of designer influence and minimalist charm. The muted palette on the walls is chic and pared back, with bright pops of color adding a welcoming and relaxing touch that’s perfect for guests of all ages. We love the vibrant Eames dining chairs, the elegant marbled tiling in the bathrooms, and the traditional white cladding on the exterior.

A New York - Upper East Side native for 20 years, Prachee is a mother of 4 year old twins who enjoys the three New York Rs reading, running and restaurants. Early this year she and her family were fortunate enough to acquire a weekend home that they fell in love with. She loves the light, the large backyard for her children to run around in, the private hiking trail, the quiet respite of Cragsmoor and the amazing hiking trails in town. The family feels they have stumbled on one of the best kept secrets in the Shawangunks and would like to share them with their guests.
