Perks for the Parents

This 2-story villa with a pool has superb sea views and is in a quiet location, steps from one of the most child-friendly beach in West Crete. The private swimming pool measures 50sqm and overlooks the sea. Luxurious lounge areas include outdoor dining areas, terraces, balconies and a wooden sun deck with sundecks and parasols. There is a lounge deck with pergola offering some shade, and a grassy area around the pool. The property has a small gym.

Why Kids Love it

The villa has plenty of toys for kids, plus board games, pool floats and pool gymnastics equipment. A crib, high chair, baby toys and a baby bath can be provided on request. The pool is fantastic and has a shallow end. Note it is not heated or gated. The villa is a few steps from the sandy beach of Almyrida, one of West Crete’s most child-friendly beaches. Kids can play in the village, which is safe and just a 10 minute walk away.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights (Saturday - Saturday only) The villa is safe and secure with an alarm and automatic night lighting. The pool can be heated on request. Small children must be closely supervised in the house, around the pool, which is not gated, and in the garden, which has a low wall around it. The pool is directly accessed through glass doors from the lounge. Stair gates provided on request. Low noise built-in air conditioning system included for heating and cooling. WiFi, a direct dial phone, a music system, flat screen TV with Satellite channels and a DVD player are included. The kitchen has an oven, microwave, dishwasher and more. About the Location

The residence is in a very quiet location overlooking the Aegean sea and the White Mountains on Crete’s west coast in Almyrida, 35 minutes east of Chania. Almyrida is an ideal base for exploring the many picturesque inland villages, dramatic mountain gorges and some of the island’s best beaches and sheltered bays nearby. Car hire not essential since village facilities are 10 minutes’ walk. You will need a car only if you want to explore the island. Crete’s airport is in Chania, 22 minutes away. There is a private parking area just outside the villa.

Accommodation Details

The villa is part of SK Place, a complex of 3 independent villas. It has mature gardens and a private swimming pool. There is a master bedroom with ensuite bathroom on the first floor, along with a second bedroom with 2 twin beds, convertible to a kingsize bed, with ensuite bathroom. A baby crib can be added to any of the rooms. The third bedroom with 2 twins, also convertible to a kingsize bed, is on the lower ground floor. A family spa bathroom with a separate WC is on this floor, along with a small gym.

Style Notes

Modern Greek. Natural stone and whitewashed wood combine with subtle tones of yellow, white and blue and fit the island theme of sun, sea and sand. The light and airy interior is cozy and charming. Generous balconies and terraces enjoy far-reaching views over the pool to the sea. There are comfortable couches ideal for lounging under whitewashed pergolas and grand uncluttered spaces. We love the views, the lounge areas and the perfect location, a stroll from a village and a child-friendly beach.

SK Place was a dream inspired by the unspoilt beauty of the land handed down by our grandfathers, the traditional architecture of Crete and the youthful vibrancy of our children. This dream became a reality in 2008 when we built Villa Ammos, Villa Anemos and Almyrida Residence. Pavlos is a qualified architect trained in Milan. His work is based in the town of Chania, where he has run his own design and build practice since 1985. Katerina is a financial accountant and manager working since 1985 with Pavlos in his architectural-construction studio and her passion is interior design. Stella and Kostandinos are our kids and we named SK Place after them because we wished them to know that they too belong to this land of our forefathers.
