Perks for the Parents

This stunning, sun-filled home has beautiful fittings, unique art pieces and a lovely private pool with space for 2 families to vacation together. There is a full kitchen, 3 dining areas, a BBQ, a gym and 3 bathrooms, 1 with a bathtub and 2 with showers, plus an outdoor shower near the pool. Daily cleaning is included for 2 hours a day (every day but Sunday), there is free WiFi, a safe and alarm. It’s a beautiful space and it is a short walk (1,200m) from a sandy beach and restaurants.

Why Kids Love it

The villa works well with families, having 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, plus a TV room with sofabed. The open plan kitchen-dining room-living room works well for a family. There is a ping pong table outside plus a pool. DVD players, playstation and playroom available. Young children are well provided for with crib, baby chair, high chairs, car seat, baby park and baby bath available. There is a baby pool 50cm deep and pool toys and 2 bicycles are provided.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 days. Some minor hazards for kids: the pool and fish pond are not fenced and there are some items of art that should be moved out of reach of younger children. There is an alarm system and safe box. There is parking space for up to 2 cars. The property is licensed by the Greek tourism organization. It is pet friendly. Chef, massage and spa service upon request. Daily cleaning included.

About the Location

The residence is in Kalathas Chania in the west of Crete, 1,200m from a sandy beach and restaurants, 500m from a supermarket and a 15-minute drive from Chania airport and Chania city and harbour. Car hire is recommended. The village beach is sandy and has shallow crystal clear water plus beach umbrellas and watersports facilities, and a quieter undeveloped area to the far west of the beach.

Accommodation Details

Four bedroom luxury villa with private heated pool with gardens, olive groves and massage pavilion. One bedroom has a kingsize bed, another a queensize bed and 2 further bedrooms have 2 twin beds each. The TV room has a sofa bed. In addition, there is a full kitchen, open plan kitchen/dining/living space and a partially-covered terrace around the pool. There is a gym and playroom and a fish pond with goldfish.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 15% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 15% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.

Ruins, rocky outcrops and rural charm

Off the southern coast of mainland Greece, beautiful Crete is the largest of the islands, packed with rural charm, archeological sites and fabulous mountains - a land where shepherds still tend their flocks wearing traditional dress. Blow the kids’ minds at the enormous Samariá Gorge, tantalize them with tales of ancient civilization, and check out the cave where Zeus was said to have been born.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Dimi Residence in Crete with my husband, ours girls whom are 2 and 4 years, plus my sister and her partner. Our stay was wonderful and Evaggeila was a lovely host who gave us plenty of information but also space to get on with our holiday. The house was equipped with everything you could need for a week away from home ( toiletries in bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen and pool toys for the children). The pool, whilst not fenced, is quite kid friendly as there is a paddling section for the little ones. The daily cleaning service was also really helpful, especially when travelling with other people. We also loved the location of the villa. Whilst car rental is a necessity, having a car facilitates exploring the beautiful quiet beaches, coves and beach side tavernas located nearby, plus the town of Chania which has a lovely old town and nice vibe. We would definitely recommend this villa, and Crete as a wonderful and relaxed holiday destination.
