For parents seeking a break from cooking, there are a number of excellent seafront tavernas. Its 3 beaches offer both sand and pebble options as well as a variety of water sports. For laid-back days in, the villa caters for all the family with plenty of space to relax in and a lower ground floor designed for the kids with a twinsize bedroom and games area, allowing parents some peace and quiet upstairs. The outdoor infinity pool and surrounding sun deck have stunning views of Souda Bay, and the pool can be seen fully from all the terrace areas so parents can relax while keeping an eye on younger ones. Dining in is a joy here with sleek glass terrace balconies providing uninterrupted panoramic views and a barbecue on hand for grilling fresh, local delicacies.

Kids of all ages will find plenty to love about this villa, kitted out with lots to keep them entertained. The private infinity pool is the perfect size for family games and general splashing around, with ‘top of the world’ views from its prime hillside perch. For relaxed post-swim lunches and general family feasting, there’s an outdoor barbecue and a Bluetooth speaker for accompanying playlists. Inside, the villa’s set up gives the kids a floor to themselves with a twinsize bedroom and adjoining games room with table tennis. Upstairs there’s a TV with DVD player in the comfy sitting room, perfect for movie nights in and general downtime. For those keen on outdoor adventure, there are 3 gently shelving beaches a short stroll downhill. The clear waters are ideal for little paddlers or those into snorkeling while higher energy action can be had via a variety of watersports. These include kayaking, paddleboarding and windsurfing, with tuition available for beginners. Teenagers are welcome at the town’s low-key bars which are easily accessible on foot and sufficiently close for parent’s peace of mind.

Minimum stay 7 nights. Please note that there is an ungated pool which younger children should be supervised around. Bath and pool towels are included in the rental. There is air conditioning and WiFi throughout the villa. The villa has a TV and a DVD player but a smart TV is available on request. A safe, washing machine, ironing facilities, hairdryer and barbecue are included. Car hire, child seats and booster seats are available for an additional charge on request. The host’s concierge team can additionally help arrange in-house extras such as chefs/catering, babysitting/childcare services (where available), airport transfers and taxi bookings. About the Location
The villa is located in Western Crete, in an elevated spot between the White mountains and pretty Souda Bay. It overlooks the seaside town of Almyrida which has 3 beaches and water sports as well as bakeries, a supermarket and beachside tavernas just a 15-minute walk downhill or a 5 minute car journey away. There are taxis back for guests who prefer not to walk both ways. The inland villages of the Apokronos, including Plaka and Gavalochori are under 10 minutes’ drive away while Chania town, with its Venetian harbour, market and excellent shops and restaurants, is 35 minutes’ away by car. Boat hire is available from Kalves a 5 minute drive away. The inland freshwater lake Kournas is a 35 minute drive away and is perfect for swimming and picnics with the opportunity to visit various vineyards and olive groves enroute. The airport (at Chania) is a 30 minute drive.
Accommodation Details
This property has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms set over 2 floors. The spacious ground floor of the villa is light and airy with contemporary picture windows and large glass doors. The living/dining area comes with comfy sofas, TV and DVD player, a dining table seating 6 and sweeping glass doors onto the outside terrace. The stylish kitchen area is tucked away to one side, connected by an open arch and a low wall come breakfast bar with seating for 2. It comes fully-equipped including a microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. The primary bedroom is on this floor at the far side of the house and has a kingsize bed, ensuite bathroom and direct access to the terrace with its wonderful coastal views. The second bedroom next door can be made up as a twinsize room or double, with 2 singlesize beds and a shower room accessible just across the hall. Downstairs is a further 3rd bedroom with 2 singlesize beds which can also be made up to form a double. This is an ideal kids’ bedroom as it adjoins the games room next door with a table tennis table. There is an additional shower room accessible from the games room as well as a utility space with a washing machine. The garden space comprises of a partly shaded outdoor veranda with seating and glass balcony, leading to a sun terrace with sun loungers and a 7m x 4m infinity pool. The terrace continues to the side where there’s a dining table seating 6, and a wraparound glass balcony.

Modern picture windows, floor to ceiling sliding doors and sleek glass balconies are designed to draw in uninterrupted views from every angle. Outdoor terraces and the stylish infinity pool offer the perfect space to relax amongst nature, surrounded by Olive trees with the mountains in the distance on one side and the azure waters of the coast on the other. We love the alfresco terraces where all seats are the best in the house, positioned for soaking up incredible views and the well-designed downstairs kids’ area which is away from the main terrace, allowing for peaceful moments.
