This calm, spacious house has plenty of room for 2 families to vacation together, and has two stand-out perks: a private pool and a private beach, 15 minutes’ walk away. It’s an easy place to stay with all you could need nearby, and it’s a wonderful place for fishing, walking, shellfishing, swimming, and all-around relaxing, breathing and connecting.

Why Kids Love it

This property has plenty to entertain kids, from the enormous carpeted downstairs playroom to the garden with pool and inflatable toys. It’s a short walk (0.7 miles) to the nearest beach, which has a playground, and kids equipment provided includes 3 booster seats, a pack’n’play, beach toys and art supplies for ages 3-7. There are two TV areas, one in the upstairs family room with DVD player, cable, and Netflix, and one downstairs with Netflix and DVD.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: One week most of the year, 2 weeks during summer months. One week left in August 2022. PLEASE NOTE: at the moment 2 of the downstairs bedrooms do not have air conditioning and the washer/drier are not available. Three of the bedroom upstairs do have air conditioning. The property has no major safety hazards, although children will need watching around the fenced pool, which has a shallow beach end and is set away from the house. If needed, a stair gate can be put up in the house. There is an additional air bed and travel crib available on request.

About the Location

We are four, city-dwellers but nature lovers. Our daughters are eleven and fourteen, and have grown up running in the yard, having dance parties, collecting seashells, swimming in the pool, examining marine life, eating snacks and making stuff. We look forward to sharing our beautiful, uncluttered, family-friendly house with like-minded people who will enjoy the mix of tranquility and activities--including farms, vineyards, swimming, fishing, kayaking, beachcombing and carousel-riding--to be found on the North Fork of Long Island.

Cutchogue, North Fork

Vineyards and birdsong

Cutchogue is a summer town, perfect for visitors wanting to idle away their time playing on beaches, visiting vineyards or dining at local farms. Pick fruit with the kids, build sandcastles, swim in the ocean and enjoy the quiet small-town feel where birdsong takes the place of traffic noise.

We had a wonderful winter weekend at Amy's house. It was great for two families, including 3 kids, who loved the big playroom downstairs. Amy was a great host and we certainly hope to return in the future!

My family (a toddler, a baby, husband, and mother in law), had a wonderful time at Amy's house. The location is convenient to all the fun local attractions and it is very close to some beautiful beaches. The layout is very comfortable and easy to relax in, and the pool, and the outdoor dining area cannot be beat! This is a great find, and Amy and her family were the perfect hosts. Thanks for the awesome vacation!

This house was our Happy Place for the summer of 2016. The hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the house is fully and considerately stocked for a great kid-friendly getaway (including a basement playroom/TV room well-supplied for rainy days). We played bocce and catch in the sprawling backyard, and swam every day in the heated outdoor pool. The bay beach, a few minutes away, is gentle, shallow, and ideal for kids. And, the house is decorated with mid-century flair and has shelves overflowing with books! It accommodated three families very comfortably - the only thing I would point out is that two of the five bedrooms are in the below-ground part of the house, which might not be ideal for everyone. But, we loved it and hope to return!

A great getaway for families with young babies and toddlers alike! We had a lovely time here with our 10 month old daughter and her 2 year old cousin-- the house is spacious and accommodated all of us (5 adults and 2 kids) quite well, with room to spare! The family room was a great space for all of us to sit and relax with the late summer breeze coming in through the many windows! Also great that it was close to a quiet beach, Greenport, vineyards, and farms for a nice outing if you so chose. We would stay here again! Thanks Amy!
