Perks for the Parents

Stay in the heart of University Park in Dallas, Texas at this spacious family home, complete with a dedicated playroom and stunning private garden. It sleeps 9 + 1. Parents will love their luxurious primary suite, which has a seating area and a large ensuite bathroom with a shower, separate soaking tub and double vanity sinks. The bedrooms are all located close to each other, but there’s plenty of room for everyone to have their own privacy and space. The location is ideal for families, in the heart of the prestigious Park Cities (Highland Park/University Park) neighborhood, with safe quiet surroundings but easy access to the city - the perfect place to relax after a busy day exploring the sights.

Why Kids Love it

The house is stocked with toys for ages 0-15, with a large playroom off the kitchen where kids can have fun. The backyard has a spacious patio, turfed grassy area, outdoor toys (including a large blow up water slide!) and a trampoline so the kids have lots of room to run off some steam. The house is located in an upscale, very safe, family friendly neighborhood. There are beautiful parks and playgrounds nearby, as well as a fantastic neighborhood pool within walking distance of the house. Dallas is a great city for families to visit: don’t miss The Dallas World Aquarium, Museum of Illusions and the beautiful parks alongside the Trinity River in downtown (10-15 minutes’ drive).

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week. Safety notes: there are no baby gates on the property so small children would need to be supervised around the stairs. There are no full size cribs on the property but there is a travel size crib plus additional baby items such as a high chair, baby Bjorn bouncy chair and several 'baby' chairs and toys. Pets are allowed but please check with the host when booking. There is a 2-car garage off the back of the house with a secured gate and garage entry. The house comes with air conditioning, dishwasher, washer/dryer (a laundry room is located outside the primary bedroom), TV and WiFi.

About the Location

It’s a great neighborhood for exploring the city - just 10 minutes’ drive from Love Field Airport and 40 minutes from Dallas Fort Worth international airport. There are several playgrounds and parks within walking distance: try Smith Park (10 minutes’ walk) and Curtis Park (15 minutes’ walk). The upscale shopping and dining destination, Highland Park Village, is about 2 miles away. It's a 10-minute drive to Downtown Dallas for all Dallas Sports, concerts and theater, fancy dining, farmers market, kids activities or simply enjoying the local neighborhood and experiencing all that the Park Cities area has to offer.

Accommodation Details

The house has 4 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, set over X floors. Downstairs has an easy flowing floor plan with 2 living rooms, a bar, two half baths, a dining room and large kitchen with plenty of seating around the kitchen island or at the breakfast table. Just off the kitchen is a playroom, located up a half level of stairs. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms; each of them have their own ensuite bathroom. The spacious primary bedroom (with a kingsize bed) has 2 walk-in closets while the other 3 bedrooms are suitable for kids of all ages: 2 of the bedrooms have 2 single beds each and the third has 1 queensize bed. The hosts also have 1 airbed available. The secondary bedrooms all have their own bathrooms with a bathtub and walk-in closets.

Style Notes

Traditional meets modern. The house is light and bright, filled with big windows and natural light. The living rooms are comfortable and colorful, with furnishings that blend both traditional and transitional styles. The hosts have added luxurious contemporary extras such as high end appliances and marble countertops in the kitchen, as well as playful color schemes in the kids’ rooms to create a modern look. We love the winding wooden staircase, the charming floral print wallpaper in the primary ensuite bathroom and the antique-style marble vanity unit.

Dallas, Texas

Skyscrapers, trolley rides and natural wonder

There are plenty of attractions for families amid the glittering skyscrapers of Dallas. Kids of all ages will enjoy Dallas Zoo and Dallas World Aquarium; little tots will like the antique trolley rides around the city, and Texas Discovery Garden will inspire wonder in the natural world, with butterflies released at noon every day. Dallas Children’s Theatre and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science , where you can dig for dino bones in the sand box, are two more must-see attractions.
