Perks for the Parents

A cozy and colorful family home in University Park, Dallas with a playroom for the kids and a bar for the grown-ups. It sleeps 12 + 3. Who wouldn’t love their own in-house wet bar, for late night cocktails or early morning espressos? This place is a dream for parents with young children, with a well-stocked playroom, loads of baby essentials and space for everyone to relax. It’s also close to nearby restaurants and shops, so you won’t have to go far if you want to grab some essentials or have an adults-only dinner. There’s even an exercise bike in the bedroom, so you can squeeze in a quick workout around the kids’ schedule.

Why Kids Love it

They’ll love the fully-enclosed backyard for playing, and the playroom is full of toys, puzzles and crafts. The hosts also have lots of essentials for babies and toddlers too, including: changing table, children’s utensils, bed rails, a baby monitor, and a high chair. The house is also within walking distance to 4 local parks and the neighborhood pool, so they can explore the local area on foot. Further into Dallas, the whole family will enjoy the parks and trails along the Trinity River, the Dallas Aquarium, and the Dallas Zoo - all within 15 minutes’ drive.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: negotiable, depending on availability. The home is safe and in the heart of a very family-friendly neighborhood. There are no stair gates here, so parents with very young children should make sure they’re supervised at all times. Ask the hosts about babysitting services if you want to explore without the kids. The garage space suits 2 large Sedans or SUVs - car rental is recommended. The house comes with air conditioning, bikes to borrow, dishwasher, double washer/dryer in the laundry room, TV and WiFi.

About the Location

The house is located in University Park, Dallas. It’s just 10 minutes’ drive to Dallas Love Field airport or half an hour to Dallas/Fort Worth international. Nearby there are countless local parks, shopping and dining spots, with options for grocery, nails, hair and coffee shops within minutes. The rest of Dallas’s tourist spots are within easy reach: visit the Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Garden (20 minutes’ drive), Dallas Museum of Art (10 minutes’ drive), and the Museum of Illusions (also just 10 minutes’ drive).

Accommodation Details

This residence has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. Downstairs, there’s a beautiful lounge with huge corner sofa and fireplace. The spacious kitchen features a breakfast bar and a dining table seating 6, and leads to a formal dining room and a wet bar - all of which are next to a playroom, so kids can play while the parents are busy prepping meals. Upstairs, the primary bedroom (with a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom) is close to the 2 children’s rooms: 1 is furnished with 2 single beds, the other has XXX. The final guest room has a queensize bed and an ensuite bathroom, perfect for a nanny or extra adults. The hosts also have 1 crib, 2 travel cribs, 2 single air beds, 2 double air beds available. Outside, there’s a cozy outdoor lounge with TV, fireplace, speakers, heaters and fans to make dining and entertaining accessible all year round.

Style Notes

Colorful southern comfort. Spacious yet warm with a cozy vibe, this house has traditional and refined elements, yet it’s perfectly family friendly. There’s a real sense of playfulness and a strong use of color and pattern, creating a bright and fun space. Warm wood textures and classic white walls are juxtaposed with quirky prints and animal rugs, finished with a natural flourish of green plants to add a calming, botanical touch. We love the swan print wallpaper in the bar, the blue china display wall and the grand bedroom 4-poster bed.

we are a family of 5 and life is sure fun! we traded in the beach for dallas almost three years ago but are loving where we live. Snow cones and family friendly and date night dinners are walkable! Our favorite place to travel is Stockholm or anywhere in Italy! We joined kid&Co because we use it ourselves and LOVE it.

Dallas, Texas

Skyscrapers, trolley rides and natural wonder

There are plenty of attractions for families amid the glittering skyscrapers of Dallas. Kids of all ages will enjoy Dallas Zoo and Dallas World Aquarium; little tots will like the antique trolley rides around the city, and Texas Discovery Garden will inspire wonder in the natural world, with butterflies released at noon every day. Dallas Children’s Theatre and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science , where you can dig for dino bones in the sand box, are two more must-see attractions.

We had a great stay at the Stanford residence in Dallas. The location is perfect. It’s close to shopping, restaurants and anything else you could possible need. It is also conveniently located to a highway for easy access to all Dallas has to offer. The home is amazing. The master suite with living room and giant bathroom is a nice retreat for parents. the other bedrooms are perfect for kids as well. The backyard has a trampoline to keep the kids happy and the outdoor living space complete with television is awesome for parents. We had a great stay here and hope to return on our next visit to Dallas.

We wish we could live here!! This home was absolutely perfect for our family - stylish, functional, well-located, and the hosts are so kind and helpful. We loved every second of our time in this house. Our kids bounced on the trampoline, swung in the front swing, played with all the amazing toys in their beautiful play room. The home was clean, well-organized, and again, the hosts were insanely kind, helpful, informative, and generous. And for the adults... you can run endless loads of laundry with their double washers and dryer, make cocktails in their chic bar area, lounge on their comfy cloud sofa, or enjoy a primary bedroom suite that is the size of some people's apartments - complete with a wet bar and fireplace! The area is extremely walkable to get coffee, food, or catch a game at the local high school. We really couldn't recommend this place enough!! Go, go, go!
