Perks for the Parents

This bright and spacious family apartment in a quiet neighborhood close is close to two of the city’s most famous parks, Rembrandtpark and the Vondelpark. In both, children can play and parents can find nice child-friendly cafés. All the amenities are close by including a tram/bus stop (reaching the heart of the city in 15 minutes), bike rental spots, grocery stores/supermarkets, convenience stores, cafés, ice cream parlor and restaurants.

Why Kids Love it

The house is fully equipped with toys and books, including Lego, Duplo, cars and train sets. The single room suits children under 10 best - it is too young for teenagers. There is a playground at the end of the street, a little football field out front and the parks all around. The property comes with a high chair, toys, Fisher Price baby bath, pack’n’play travel crib, plus TV, PS3, and some DVDs for varying age groups.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 days. The apartment is on the ground floor with no stairs; the street has little traffic so it is fairly safe for children. Note that while there is street parking, it costs quite a bit and is only free on Sundays. The nearest tram stop is a 2-minute walk away. Car rental not essential

About the Location

The residence is in the Overtoomse Veld area of western Amsterdam, around 15 minutes by tram to the city center. It is a quiet neighborhood bordered by parks and easy access into the city via tram and bus. Bike rental is available nearby and there are conveniences on the doorstep, including grocery stores, restaurants and an ice cream parlor. The property is 12 minutes by car to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

Accommodation Details

This ground floor apartment has a living/dining room at the front with a view of the street, canal and park. At the back of the property there is a double bedroom with kingsize bed and a smaller children's room with a twin bed which can fold out into a full/double. The kitchen leads to the garden and is compact but fully equipped. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, bathtub and washing machine.

Style Notes

Bright and welcoming. This cozy, classically Amsterdam apartment has white walls, plenty of light and views of a canal from the living room. It is decorated with unique touches and items from around the world: from the Persian rug, to the Arabic and Brazilian art on the walls. We love the high ceilings and the stained glass panels in the front door, along with the brimming bookshelves in the children’s room.

Thanks for visiting our profile. After years of traveling and working in the Middle East, Spain and the UK we have settled in Amsterdam where we live in a cozy and traditional Amsterdam residential neighbourhood with great playgrounds, parks and people. We enjoy traveling and once a year we head down through europe to the iberian peninsula in our campervan to explore, relax, seek out the best local cuisine, surf and see the sights. We hope you enjoy staying in our Amsterdam home.

Our family trip to Amsterdam was perfect in this cozy and beautiful apartment. We loved the location, well communicated, next to a lovely park and in a nice neighborhood. The apartment has all the amenities and plenty of toys for the children. I recommend this place to everyone who wants to spend some time enjoying Amsterdam with kids.
