A private mountain escape just outside Denver, Colorado with a hot tub, kids bunk room and spectacular views from 8000ft elevation. It sleeps 6. This a great spot for escaping the hustle and bustle of daily life - breathe in the invigorating mountain air, explore the surrounding forests or read by the fire to reset and recharge. You’ll find multiple living spaces for parents to have a quiet coffee (or catch up on work) while the kids play, and grown-ups will love the expansive outdoor deck for al fresco dining when it’s warm. For those looking for adventure, you can spend your days skiing on the slopes or hiking the challenging mountainous landscape, before stargazing at night from the peaceful hot tub on the deck.

Why Kids Love it

The property has a couple of highchair options, a travel crib, lots of board games, art supplies and toys for children (stored up high), as well as a bathtub for family bath time! To calm kids down after busy days, try playing the vintage Disney audio stories on vinyl on the record player. Outside, there’s a swing set and a slide, and they can safely explore the wooded area within the property. The hosts also have a couple of cozy toddler-sized robes to keep the kids warm on the way in and out of the hot tub! The whole family will love testing out the waffle maker and popcorn maker in the kitchen for treats, and you can all have hot chocolate around the fire pit on chilly evenings.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Safety notes: the hot tub is not gated, so children should be supervised outside. The deck is enclosed with safety fencing, and the stairs indoors are gated at the top. At 8,000 ft up, the views are incredible, but the weather can be unpredictable! The property requires 4WD/AWD or snow tires to gain access in the winter months - a vehicle is essential. There is a stone gas fireplace as well as an outdoor propane fire-pit with Adirondack chairs. There is a garage overhang for bike storage - the hosts will advise on parking rules on arrival. The mountains are very quiet and peaceful, so noise does travel. When enjoying the outdoor space, please use quiet voices (within reason) out of respect for the neighbors. Despite the large size of the property (with space to sleep 11) the hosts can only accept groups of up to 6 due to county regulations.

About the Location

The cabin is located 40 minutes outside Denver, Colorado. Within 15 minutes you can access picturesque hikes, an artisan ice cream parlor, pizza places, sushi eateries, bakeries, and a craft beer stop in the town of Conifer. There’s also a zipline adventure tour operator there for thrill-seeking families! Exploring further afield, it’s 20 minutes to Littleton. For ski resorts, head to Echo Mountain, Breckenridge or Arapahoe (all around 1 hour away) or Loveland (1.5 hours away). Cross-country skiing can be found at plenty of nearby peaks, including Bald Mountain, Riley Peak, Samson Mountain and Warren Peak. It’s 1 hour from Denver airport.

Accommodation Details

The residence has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, set over 2 floors. The kitchen features a small breakfast bar and leads to a spacious lounge, which has doors leading to the deck and a desk/workspace with amazing views. There’s also a separate dining room (with doors out to the deck) and a cozy nook with a corner fireplace. Two of the bedrooms have kingsize beds, another adult’s room has a queensize bed with a single trundle underneath. There’s also a children’s bunk room with 4 single beds. One bathroom has a walk-in shower; the other has a bathtub. Outside, there’s a huge deck with spectacular views, boasting a firepit and chairs, a large dining table, as well as the hot tub.

Style Notes

Cozy cabin. The hosts have updated this classic cabin with a warm and minimal mountain modern aesthetic. Dimmed ambient lighting and minimal abstract art prints create a calming, restful atmosphere that’s perfect for a relaxing vacation. Honed granite counters and Moroccan zellige Cle tiles add style to the kitchen and bathroom, while rain showers in both of the bathrooms add hotel-style luxury. The hosts have also chosen vintage and CB2 furniture, as well as vintage books and raw brass accents, for a unique and eclectic look. We love the cozy stone-wall fireplace corner, the deep low inviting couch in the lounge and the rustic exposed wooden ceiling beams.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
