This sophisticated East Hamptons house has a great layout for families, and is walking distance from the town and its beaches. The lower level has a bedroom perfect for the nanny as well as amenities including a basketball court, den, video games, pool table and space for kids to run around and play. The house is across the street from a church that has a large athletic field and a playground for more space to play. There are lots of bikes including attachments so you can strap a little one in and ride down to the beach.
Why Kids Love it
There’s so much here for kids - not just the fantastic garden and pool, but also the plentiful play and lounge spaces, the basketball courts and the proximity to the beach and town. This house is great for all kids at any age range but ideal for children 10 and up. And especially if you have boys who enjoy swimming and basketball! Note that few babycare items are provided so you may need to bring them with you. The pool has a nice large ledge so a little one can splash around without having to go in the deep end.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 30 nights with some possible shorter stays available on request. The house comes equipped with pool alarms on each door with access to the backyard and SafetyTurtle wristbands to put on your little ones. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly ever need. Guests can book housekeeper and other services if needed. There is cable TV with all premium channels, and WiFi throughout all including the backyard. There is a Sonos sound system throughout the house including the backyard.
About the Location
The house is right in the village of East Hampton, conveniently located between the beach and town and giving you the option to walk or bike to either. It is close to public transportation (both train and bus are less than 1 mile away) and you can walk or bike to everything. Eight bikes (3 beach cruisers, 5 road bikes) are available for use. New York City is a 3-hour drive, Long Island MacArthur airport is 1 hour 40 minutes away by car; the area is easily reached by Jitney from New York City.
Accommodation Details
The house has 5 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, with the master bedroom on the main floor and 3 bedrooms on the second floor, all with ensuite bathrooms. The fifth bedroom is on the lower level, with a full size bathroom adjacent to it. There is a fully equipped kitchen and lounge, plus a basketball court, pool table, wine cellar and laundry room on the lower level. Outside there is a covered porch with fireplace and TV, pool cabana, heated pool, hot tub, 3-car garage and backyard.
Style Notes
This spacious Hamptons home has a sophisticated beach vibe, with white walls, pine floors, tartan furnishings and views to the garden at every turn. The back of the house faces south and is sun-filled and light all day long. It is cozy and comfortable with spaces to relax for all the family, from the pool cabana to several lounges through the house. We like the kitchen with its Viking appliances and breakfast bar, and the lower level with its lounge and indoor basketball court.

East Hampton is this affluent playground’s most fashionable town, known for its grand houses and estates as much for its readings and exhibitions. The main draw is Main Beach, a beautiful coastline with clean sands, inviting waters, professional lifeguards, plenty of space and millionaire mansions on the banks. LongHouse Reserve, with its enchanting sculpture garden, and Hither Hills State Park are also worth a visit.
