A bohemian beachside casa that oozes laid back coastal cool with a private garden, alfresco living area and the sea on its doorstep. It sleeps 10 + 1. With no roads to cross between the residence and local Marina di Campo beach, parents can relax while older kids make the 1-minute journey back and forth, and enjoy hassle-free beach time themselves with easy access back to the house when needed. The residence is fully air-conditioned for comfort on hotter days, and there’s an inside play area for kids attached to the living room so parents can chill out while keeping an eye on younger ones. The residence is perfectly set up for enjoying alfresco living too with a large BBQ and a smart pergola housing a chic outside living room and a fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table. The garden is enclosed and gated so kids can explore safely while the adults enjoy a leisurely lunch or unwind on an outdoor sofa or hammock. There’s no need for a car with the local village, and restaurants, walking distance away, and there are bikes provided for exploring the wider island.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will love this beachside paradise with a treasure trove of toys and calm, shallow seas to splash and swim in. Inside the casa, spaces are bright and playful with bookshelves full of kids’ modern classics, toy-filled boxes and a playroom of their own with a drawing table. For music-lovers there’s a guitar and a ukulele, and plenty of shady garden spots to play them in peace. The large, enclosed garden is a safe space for kids to run around and stores the paddleboard, available for beach trips. Water babies of all ages will appreciate having the beach on their doorstep, an easy 1-minute stroll from the residence’s garden gate to the sand, with water sports, restaurants and shallow waters to enjoy. For kids keen to explore further, the hosts provide 6 bikes, with the local village an easy ride away. The local playground caters for all ages, with go karts, inflatable castles, trampolines and a toddler area. Two travel cribs, a highchair, a baby bath, potty and mini table and chair set are provided, as well as a baby carrier, a smaller cot with a mosquito net for newborns and a changing mat.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. There is Wifi and quiet Daikin Emura air conditioning throughout the property. Two umbrellas, some kids beach equipment and 6 bikes are provided for guests’ use (one of which has a child seat). There is no bathtub at this residence. Sheets and towels are provided for the first week, if guests want fresh sheets and towels after, they can be ordered at a small additional cost. Please note that beach towels are not included but can be ordered on request. Maid service and a daily cleaning service can be requested at an additional cost depending on the season. The hosts recommend that kids are kept away from the indoor and outdoor storage rooms as they contain heavy equipment and guests are kindly requested not to burn Oleander wood or leaves on the BBQ because they are toxic. Car hire is not necessary while staying at the residence but for guests wishing to hire a vehicle, it is possible to do this from Pisa airport; there is parking at the residence for 3 cars. The hosts can recommend taxi firms on the island as an alternative. There are security cameras on the premises. No pets - sorry. Check in from 6pm; check out by 10am.

About the Location

The residence is located on the island of Elba in the Tuscan archipelago, the third largest Italian island after Sicily and Sardinia. There are many small fishing villages, ancient fortresses, walking trails and over 100 beautiful beaches to explore. The Casa is set in a pine wood which leads down to the beautiful sandy beach of Marina di Campo, 1 minutes’ walk away. Guests can hire kayaks and paddle boards from here or take a boat trip to explore local coves. The centre of the nearest village is a short walk away with supermarkets and restaurants. For golf players, Elba Gold club is a 30-minute drive and there is a tennis club 10 minutes by car. The island has several vineyards offering wine tasting and tours. The closest international airport is Pisa, 1 hour from Piombino Marittima harbour where it’s a 60-minute ferry to Portoferraio. From Portoferraio it’s 20 minutes to the residence by car, so it's best to have a rental car or ask the host for taxi recommendations. Trains also operate from Pisa to Piombino harbour.

Accommodation Details

The residence has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms over 2 floors. Downstairs, the main living areas are open plan style. The living room has a sofa, coffee table, HD TV, a Bluetooth sound system and 2 sets of double doors which lead through to a glass conservatory. This extension is set up as a dining room with a large table seating 12, and a kids’ play area with drawing boards, toys and mini table and chairs. The fully equipped kitchen is the other side of the living area with a dishwasher, coffee machine, food processor and breakfast table seating 2. There is a laundry room with a washer/dryer. There is 1 bedroom downstairs, with a doublesize bed, and a separate bathroom with a shower. Upstairs is the primary bedroom with a queensize bed, a second bedroom with a queensize bed and a single day bed, and a kids’ room with 2 single beds and a bunk sleeping 1. There are 2 separate bathrooms with showers. There is a large terrace on this floor with sun loungers and lovely views of the garden, the pine wood and the beach beyond. Outside, is a 50 mq2 covered pergola which houses a second living room with a corner sofa and chairs, and a fully equipped kitchen/diner with a hob, oven, sink, dishwasher and large dining table seating up to 12. There is also large BBQ in the garden for rustling up alfresco dinners. For relaxing, the garden has hammocks, sun beds, deck chairs and a hot outdoor shower – ideal for post-beach rinse downs. A private back gate provides access to the beach path.

Bohemian beachside. A cool, laid-back coastal pad with plenty of glass and shady spots to enjoy views of the pine tree wood and the coast beyond. Interior and exterior spaces have been thoughtfully crafted to embrace simple living with a 70’s twist, including original klinker floors, bright orange kitchen tiles and vintage furniture pieces. Joyful LRNCE art adorns the walls adding a playfulness throughout. The residence has a great sense of fun with brightly filled bookshelves and toy-filled play corners, coupled with bold striped textiles and bursts of color in the kitchen and on the funky dining chairs. We love the quirky yet chic outdoor spaces, with a relaxed rustic style living room and a smart kitchen-diner where guests can fully embrace alfresco life, with an added touch of luxury.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
