I lived in this apartment with my children for many happy years after moving back to Rome from London. We loved the bright, airy space and the quiet road in a lovely neighborhood. I am a chef and I organize social dinners and cooking classes in my new place just round the corner. We hope you feel at home and enjoy the space as much as we did!

Esquilino, Rome

Views of the Alban hills

This central area near the Termini railway station isn’t beautiful but delivers in terms of location and ease of getting to the city’s key sights. Visit Piazza Vittorio, one of the city’s largest squares, the Mercato Esquilino, an open air morning market, and seek out coffee shops and osteria much beloved by the locals that don’t have a tourist menu.

We absolutely enjoyed staying at Cristina's place. So comfortable, with plenty of toys, well equipped all around and so well decorated. Although the apartment is very close to a subway stop, we enjoyed visiting Rome on foot and using Uber (much easier with a stroller), it is just a 15 min easy walk to the mighty Coliseum. In addition, Cristina was very responsive with questions before and during our stay. This was our first trip to Italy and we hope to come back. Highly recommended!

The Amedeo Residence was a great surprise added to our italian vacation. The apartment is fun, cosy and gracefully refurbished, perfect for a family with children. And Cristina was a gentle and attentive hostess. During our stay in Rome, being next to an underground station (one block away) was a very important detail. Thanks a lot, Cristina!

Let me start by saying the apartment is beautiful and Cristina is a wonderful hostess--very easy to reach and made us feel welcome even before arriving. We also felt very safe in the location/building. However it was not a positive experience for us for a few reasons: the location is extremely busy and loud with the windows open (which you must do in the summer)...people walking by until 1a, then the deliveries starting at 4:30a. This made it nearly impossible for us to sleep. Secondly, the "stairs" to the second level are essentially a ladder. They were very dangerous for us, and I certainly wouldn't recommend it for kids under 6. Finally, the owners have a cat...it wasn't there, but if you're allergic (like me), that would be important to know. I wanted to love this place. Cristina was very gracious and the apartment is lovely and convenient. Unfortunately we ended up leaving a day early because it was just a bad fit for our family.

Our kids (ages 4 and 3 1/2) did not want to leave the apartment! Cristina was so welcoming, friendly and responsive. Once we figured out the metro and the trains it was fantastic to be about two blocks from a metro station that is only two stops from Roma Termini. We did find that you have to head in the right direction when wanted to venture around the neighborhood because most of it is residential. Follow Cristina's nearby restaurant recommendations to get you to the more lively part of the neighborhood. Thank you for a great stay!

We (me, my husband and two kids, ages 6 and 9) had a great time staying at Cristina's apartment. As pictured, the place is light-filled and comfortable, with a large bathroom and kitchen. It is a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum and one block from a subway line that gets you to the train station, Spanish steps and Borghese Gardens in minutes. My kids enjoyed their nook on the first floor and we slept well in the open upstairs loft. Cristina was so helpful, making restaurant recommendations and putting us in touch with a wonderful tour guide (Silvia) who showed us the Colosseum and the Vatican for very reasonable prices - and in a way that even mostly kept my 6-year-old son's attention. If you are looking for an affordable way to see Rome and don't mind staying in a non-central location/taking the subway or bus to see things, this place will work well for your family!

We had a great time in Rome in the Amadeo residence. The appartment is lovely, Cristina has tons of toys for our kids and tons of CDs for the parents to unwind listening to music. It is pretty easy to get to the main sites, the Coliseum being walking distance and the city center a short metro ride. The ideal base camp!

Cristina's place was a perfect spot for our short trip to Rome. She was the kindest and most thoughtful host. Our kids loved her loft, and enjoyed playing with the Legos, wooden blocks and books. The metro is literally right around the corner to take you to spots like the Colosseum or Spanish Steps. Despite this being our first trip to Rome as a family, we felt like locals thanks to her amazing space and the neighborhood it's in, away from all the tourist traps. It was always nice coming back after a long day out, and there are lots of little restaurants and enotecas nearby for dinner options. Can't recommend it enough, thank you Cristina for sharing your beautiful home with us!

At the end of a long trek around France and Italy with a six and four-year-old, we were thrilled to arrive at Christina's charming apartment and discover a kid-friendly oasis in the middle of bustling Rome. Our kids adored all the books and toys, and we loved the central-but-quiet location and bright, funky decor. Cristina was a gracious and responsive host, answering all of questions promptly and kindly booking us a taxi to the airport. We can't wait to return.

Cristina's apartment is in a great central location in Rome an easy walk to the Colosseum and with the metro station at the end of the street you are able to get to most of the major sights in Rome easily ideal if you have a young family. The apartment is warm, bright and airy with lots of great books magazines and music to while away an afternoon if your kids get tired of walking and is furnished with an interesting and eclectic mix of modern and retro furnishings. A well equipped kitchen, great dining table and lovely bathroom make it an easy place to stay with a family. Cristina was a delight to deal with and was very generous and helpful answering any requests .... she even offered to arrange transport for us on our last day. Would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone travelling with a young family to Rome.

We had a wonderful stay with our two young children in Cristina's bright, lovely and beautifully decorated apartment. Cristina was super responsive. We walked from the apartment to the Colosseum and Roman Forum and other sites, and took taxis to other destinations (although the Metro is right there, we didn't tackle it with a stroller). All v. easy!

The Amedeo Residence is in a fab location with a local metro line, easy transport to the main station and a straightforward fixed-fare taxi journey from the airport. During our short stay we explored on foot and happily viewed historic local sights such as the Colosseum, only a few minutes walk away. The apartment itself is on the first floor of a well maintained building. It is a bright, airy and happy space, with inspiring furnishings and decoration. It suited the whole family - our 3 year old made full use of available toys and books in the children's room while I felt comfortable with and inspired to cook in the well equipped kitchen. Cristina was always really helpful and friendly in all her communication before, during and after our stay. She was similarly generous when she welcomed us into her home where there was fresh fruit, milk, etc. put out for us. The Amedeo Residence truly felt like home from home.
