Perks for the Parents

With a very private pool and gardens with views set in arguably the prettiest village in Provence, this enchanting house in Eygalières oozes bohemian charm. It sleeps up to 13. In fact, it’s 2 houses side by side joined by a Provençal patio, which makes it ideal for 2 families or a family and grandparents travelling together. There’s even a third cottage in the garden for an additional 4 guests, so everyone has their own space. Dine together outside in the evening on the patio overlooking the beautiful gardens and mountains, or wander down to the village where you’ll find a plethora of restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will love the boules pitch here where they can while away a happy hour or two. The gardens have nooks and crannies and endless opportunities for play and there’s a hammock for snoozing. In nearby St-Remy, kids will have fun following a Van Gogh trail and exploring the Roman archaeological site of Glanum. For family days out, visit the Camargue (45 minutes) to see white horses and flamingoes, or go to Avignon (30 minutes) to take the famous road train across the city and visit art galleries and cafes.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. Changeover day: Saturday. Check in: 3pm. Check out: 10am. All linen, towels and pool towels are included. An end of stay clean is included. Pets are not allowed. Smoking is outside only. The pool is open from 1st May to 30th September. Please note that like all heated pools, water temperature is reliant on the weather and outside temperatures. Security deposit: €1500, refundable. The adjoining property is available at an additional cost for up to 4 more guests. This is subject to availability and must be requested at the time of booking. The garden has drop-offs and terraces where young children may need to be supervised. There are some steep steps inside too. Only 3 bedrooms have air conditioning.

About the Location

The villa is minutes from the heart of the lovely village of Eygalières, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, southern France. The village has everything you might need: a small grocery store, several very good cafes and restaurants, a hairdresser, bakery, butcher, wine and cheese, and a weekly market. Local sights include the beautiful 7th-century Chapelle de Saint Sixte. Eygalières is just 15 minutes’ drive from Saint Remy de Provence and 40 minutes’ drive south of Avignon, where you’ll find a Eurostar stop. Fly to Marseille airport, approx. 1 hour away.

Accommodation Details

This residence has 7 bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms and is spread over 3 separate houses. Entering the main house, you’ll find a living room with a fireplace and TV, a well equipped kitchen with doors leading to an al fresco dining area. There is a bedroom with a single / twin bed and a shower room and a double bedroom with a WC. In the 2nd house is a living room with TV and 3 double bedrooms with a separate shower room. Two bedrooms in the 2nd house have air-conditioning. The cottage is accessed via the garden or the street. It has a living area, a kitchen-diner and a 2 double bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms. Outside is an 11m x 5m swimming pool, a summer kitchen and BBQ grill, a patio and upper terrace with a seating area. There is also a boules pitch and table football.

Vintage pieces and modern furniture sit side-by-side. Huge old fireplaces, paintings and velvet sofas mix create a relaxed ambience. There are many spots everywhere to curl up in the shade with a book. We love the exposed rock, wooden beams and secret passages and the gorgeous pool area where you can sunbathe privately in the pretty, fragrant Mediterranean gardens.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 12 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 12 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 12 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
A non-refundable 30% deposit is required to make a booking (or full payment if booking within 12 weeks of arrival). If you have paid a deposit, the final balance is payable 12 weeks prior to the commencement of the holiday. Once this has been paid, it is non-refundable.

Medieval ruins and market stalls

This pretty village in the heart of Provence is perched in the northern Alpilles mountains and has medieval ruins along with shops, restaurants and bakeries. On a Friday, market stalls selling local produce line the stone streets and draw in plenty of local visitors. It’s a charming little village and is in a great location for exploring the area, with Avignon, Arles, Aix, Saint Remy and Les Baux de Provence all under hour’s drive away.
