It sleeps 8. The furnishings, inside and out, are stylish and deluxe, creating a light, contemporary base for guests to fully unwind in. The primary bedroom has a super-kingsize bed and a sleek ensuite providing parents with additional privacy as well as a comfortable space to retreat. Outside, the villa’s grounds are fenced with their own secure entrance so guests with active little ones can relax. With various terraces, including a fantastic roof sun deck, there are plenty of areas in which to catch a quiet moment. The alfresco dining area with barbecue and outdoor Sonos sound system, surrounded by lush Mediterranean planting, makes for dreamy laid-back evenings in. While for those who prefer to dine out, the villa is just a short walk to gourmet beach-side restaurants, bars and boutiques making evenings out with little ones as stress-free as possible.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will love splashing around in the villa’s private pool, with optional heating for those who prefer warmer temperatures and jumping water fountains providing added fun. The villa’s palm tree dotted terraces come with a large barbecue, pool/snooker table and outdoor sound system lending alfresco lunches and dinners a beach club atmosphere that kids of all ages will enjoy. For hotter times of day the airy sitting room offers a cool place to retreat to, with a huge corner sofa and large wall mounted TV for cinema-style movie screenings and general downtime. There are also downstairs bedroom options for littler ones and a shared bathroom which comes with its own whirlpool bath. For active days, the resort has lots to offer on the doorstep, from a tennis academy and playground to long, sandy beaches with watersports. Beyond the resort, the Algarve has lots to keep the kids occupied including an Aquashow Park at Quarteira with water rides and roller coasters; Go Karting at Almancil; and horse trekking at Pinetrees Riding which offers treks through the beautiful Formosa Nature Reserve.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. There is a £1500 security deposit to be paid by transfer before arrival and refunded 2 weeks after departure, subject to full inspection. The local tourist tax is included in the rental. Please note that the pool is ungated so younger children should be supervised around it. For guests who require pool heating, there will be an additional charge of €300, to be paid locally. There is WiFi throughout the property. A barbecue, washing machine and dryer, Sonos sound system and a pool table are provided. Car hire is not essential but recommended for guests wishing to explore the wider coast; there is private parking on-site. Please note that the villa is overlooked by CCTV. The host’s concierge team can help arrange maid service, a pre-arrival fridge stock, in-house chefs/catering, babysitting/childcare services, airport transfers upon request.

About the Location

The villa is located within the quiet resort of Dunas Douradas in the beautiful Algarve, Portugal. The nearest beach is just 800m from the villa with plenty of upmarket restaurants for dining with a sea view. For a taste of local life, Almancil is less than 10km away and has one of the Algarve’s prettiest churches. There is also a Go Karting track here. For sophisticated nightlife, guests can head to Vilamoura – a 20 minute drive away – with its elegant marina, boutiques and excellent restaurants. For beach lovers, the resorts of Quarteira and Cavacos with some of finest sandy beaches in the region are just along the coast from the resort – 1 hour’s walk or a 15 minute drive. They offer stand up paddle boarding and a selection of watersports. Pinetrees Riding centre is a 5 minute drive away. The Vale de Lobo tennis academy is a 6 minute walk away while there are many golf courses in the vicinity – the San Lorenzo Golf Course is a 5 minute drive. For nature lovers, the Ria Formosa lagoon with its barrier islands and wildlife-rich wetlands are a 40 minute drive. Faro airport is a 15-minute drive.

Accommodation Details

This property has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. On the ground floor, guests will find the high lofty living room with double height ceiling, a huge corner sofa and TV. It leads to the open-plan dining room with a table seating 8 and a feature floor to ceiling glass door opening out onto the terrace. The contemporary kitchen is fully-equipped with a large American fridge, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, dishwasher and all the other mod cons guests would expect. There is also a guest cloakroom. The luxurious primary bedroom has a super kingsize bed, automated blinds, TV and stylish ensuite bathroom. All the bathrooms at the villa benefit from underfloor heating. The second double has a kingsize bed with ensuite bathroom and TV while the remaining double bedroom and the twin bedroom with two singlesize beds both have their own TVs and share an elegant bathroom with a whirlpool bath. Outside there is a private swimming pool with fountains surrounded by a sun terrace and comfortable loungers. There is a lawned area, a roof top sundeck, terrace with chill out seating and a shaded alfresco dining space with a table seating 8, a barbecue, sink area and outdoor Sonos sound system.
