About the Location

The chalet is located in the exclusive Le Cret enclave, perfectly located for enjoying the slopes of Val d’Isere or La Daille. Known for its world-class skiing from November to May, Val d’Isere offers 150km of high-altitude pistes, with 3 distinct sectors, two of which – Solaise and Bellevarde - can be accessed directly from the center of town. The area’s Col de l’Iseran mountain pass is a popular cycle route in summer. The boutiques, restaurants and bars of downtown Val d’Isere are just a few minutes’ drive. Geneva and Lyon airports around 3 hours away; Chambery and Grenoble are around 2 hours away. The closest train station is at Bourg-Saint-Maurice (45 mins), which offers high-speed rail options (TGV, Eurostar, Thalys).

Accommodation Details

The chalet has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, set over 4 floors. Basement level: the boot room, cinema room, pool and spa area. Ground floor: 4 bedrooms are on this level, each with kingsize/twin beds, satellite TV, ensuite bathrooms and balconies. One of the bathrooms has a tub, the rest have walk-in showers. There’s also dining seating for the whole family and an intimate but well-stocked bar. After dinner, relax in the private cinema room or head out to the wraparound balcony that overlooks the tops of tall pines. Each of the 6 bedrooms can be configured as either a twin room or a double. Style Notes

Luxury lodge. There is a luxurious, contemporary feel to the interiors here, with magnificent mountain views framed by multiple windows, balconies and floor-to-ceiling glass to invite the spectacular backdrop inside. The hosts have used a laid-back mix of textures and soft tones to create a relaxed elegance that works well with the rustic wood architecture. The bedrooms feature a sophisticated color palette, sumptuous linens and sleek, contemporary ensuite bathrooms for hotel-style levels of comfort. We love the converted sledge coffee table, the contemporary fireplace and the sleek integrated wine fridge and bar area.

French Alps, France

Snow-lovers, après ski and outdoor adventures

From November to March - and sometimes later - the French alps are filled with the sight of skiiers, snowboarders, skidoos and snow-lovers all descending on the mountains and resorts for maximum winter fun. For those with kids too young to enjoy it, there are options: swimming pools and spas, wildlife watching and sledging, as well as kids clubs at many ski resorts, and lessons from age 2.5. The Alps are great family choice out of season too, with summer outdoor opportunities including river rafting, parapenting, rock concerts, festivals and hiking trails.
