Perks for the Parents

This family home in the French countryside, 15 minutes from the heart of Geneva, is well placed for city, lake and mountain trips, and has an outstanding treehouse for kids. Well-set up for a family stay, with a full kitchen and family-sized dining area, it also has a large garden close to a beautiful wood. There is a separate floor for children, with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, and there is also a bedroom ideal for a nanny or for a third child.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of toys and books for kids under 12 and is a great family space with a living room large enough for wheeled toys and a treehouse in the garden. It is a walk or a ride from a wood and fields where you can see cows and birds. The children’s rooms are bright and colorful. A high chair, a baby crib, bikes, kids scooters, and crib can be provided. The garden is a great play space for football in summer; the mountains, outdoor attractions of Geneva and the surrounding countryside have great family appeal as well.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 1 week. There is a 3m square plastic swimming pool available for summer; younger kids will need supervision with the tree house. The house is laid out over 1 floor, with no stair gates. Note that crossing from Geneva over to France is for the most part routine; it is often useful to carry a passport however. A car is useful in this area but there is Swiss public transport in the village.

About the Location

The residence is in Veigy-Foncenex, a town the countryside just outside Geneva in France. It is 40 minutes from Geneva airport and 15 minutes from Geneva train station and the center of Geneva itself. Local activities and attractions include parks, museums, the mountains and lake. Geneve Plage is 10 minutes away and there is a big Aquaparc, an outdoor water park, open in summer just over an hour’s drive away.

Accommodation Details

This house has an open lounge/living kitchen space and a private garden with a tree house. There is a master bedroom with kingsize bed and a single bedroom in the ground floor suitable for ages 5 and up, and a kids floor on the first floor with 2 children's bedrooms (each with 1 twin bed) and a double bedroom plus children's bathroom. Bathrooms include showers only.

Style Notes

Bright, light and cosy. The house has playful primary color accents in the kids rooms, with an open kitchen and family-oriented spaces. The kitchen includes a large American-style fridge and plenty of room to cook. The outdoor living space is fun and colorful, with bright chairs, a semi-covered eating area and a large lawn. We love the location and the great provision for kids in an easy-going family home.

We are a traveller family of 6, with three 16, 14, 6 year-old and 1 year-old kids and a cat. We love traveling in family, we love skiing in the lovely mountains nearby and often ride bikes or kids scooters in the countryside... We often meet cows, hens, hares, sheeps... We also enjoy Peppa Pig, Dinosaurs, Lego, Playmobil, football, piano and playing board games. We used to leave abroad but we moved in the geneva countryside because we discovered this amazing and relaxing house ! I joined Kids&Coe as I love the idea of sharing with other families!
