Children will be amazed at the giant bunk room and the fully equipped game room, with something to offer every age including a pool table, air hockey table and classic arcade games! There’s also outdoor games and balls, as well as kayaks (including a child-sized option) and paddleboards.The hosts also have 1 crib and 1 travel crib available for younger guests. The lake is lined with parks, beaches and picnic spots so you’ll always have new places to visit. Kids of all ages will love a day trip to Margaritaville (20 minutes’ drive) where there’s a water park, beach volleyball, boating and regular fun events for families.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 3 nights. Safety notes: there are several sets of stairs both inside and outside the property. The lake is a short walk from the home and there is a private dock. There is a desk and printer available in the den for guests to use. The hosts are happy to help with any concierge services during your stay. Parking is available for 6 cars - car rental is recommended to explore the area.
About the Location
The house is located in Flowery Branch on Lake Lanier in Atlanta. The area is filled to the brim with fun activities, including: fishing and watersports on the lake, outdoor summer camps (such as water skiing) and hiking, sightseeing or wine tasting in the mountain towns of Helen and Dahlonega. Nearby Lanier Island offers golfing and Margaritaville, with its restaurants, a marina and a waterpark which turns into a snow park in the winter. There are a variety of dining options nearby, from waterfront seafood restaurants to quaint Southern bistros, as well as spectacular vineyards in the area. You can walk to local stores, farmers market and coffee shops in Flowery Branch (around 20 minutes) or it’s a short drive to larger stores and outlets (5 minutes away). Atlanta airport is around 35 minutes away.
Accommodation Details
This residence has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, set over 3 floors. The spectacular lounge leads to an eat-in kitchen with a dining table seating 6, and there’s a second dining area. The cozy den is perfect for parents, while the game room (with kitchenette) is ideal for kids and teens. There are 5 double bedrooms (3 kingsize; 2 queensize) and the final 6th bedroom is a bunk room with 2 sets of double bunk beds (sleeping 8 in total). The living room includes a sofabed to sleep one additional person. There are 3 full bathrooms (2 of which have bathtubs) and 2 half bathrooms, plus an outdoor shower. There is a beautiful screened-in porch with a fireplace and an oversized deck with a Big Green Egg BBQ/Smoker, as well as a firepit on the lower level for evening s’mores!
Style Notes
Elegant lakehouse. The hosts have decorated the home with soothing and relaxing colors, with a neutral palette and subtle colors in each bedroom to add character. The furnishings are a mix of antique, transitional and modern but the space is relaxed and inviting - ideal for families. The rustic materials complement the outdoor nature of the surrounding area: think exposed brick walls, wood paneling and nautical-inspired styling. We love the double height windows in the living room, the cool kids bunk room with mounted boards on the wall and the large stone fireplace.
