This 19th Century Catalan manor house, sleeping up to 9, has been beautifully restored, and is within easy driving distance of Barcelona and the Costa Brava beaches and around ten minutes from Girona itself. Bedrooms are laid out well for a large family, with one double bedroom, one triple bedroom and one quad. Enjoy the comfortable lounge, relax in the luxurious bedrooms and dine outside in the pretty garden, overlooking peaceful fields. We love the dark, cozy feel, the stylish furnishings, the character of the building and the wonderfully large kitchen built for family suppers. With a car you can easily tour the quiet sandy beaches of the northern Costa Brava, the Pyrenees mountains and the beautiful vineyards and medieval hill towns nearby.

What a superb time we had in the Can Rique Residence! The house is truly gorgeous and situated in a beautiful region of Spain, with great beaches about 30 min. away, great cities and monuments. We strongly recommend anyone who would like to discover the North of Spain to book the Can Rique Residence.

Girona, Catalonia

On the Onyar River

This historic city an hour north of Barcelona is known for its restaurants, but don’t panic if your kids aren’t into fine dining, there are fantastic bakeries and riverside cafés here too. Leave the car and stroller at home and pack comfortable shoes for a day wandering the city's cobblestoned streets, its museum and its cathedral. Then explore the coast to the north: a 40-minute drive will take you to fishing villages, Greek ruins and a castle once owned by Salvador Dali.
