Perks for the Parents

In a quiet area near The Alhambra and within walking distance of shops, restaurants and bars, this beautiful house has a private pool, bar area and BBQ. It sleeps up to 8 + 1. This is a great family vacation house with everything you need for the perfect stay. The pool house with an outdoor grill makes living outdoors easy and fun. Walk to Campo del Principe, just 3 minutes’ away, a car-free plaza with restaurants and bars where parents can relax and kids can come and go to the playground; or relax on the rooftop terrace with a glass of wine and gaze at the panoramic cityscape.

Why Kids Love it

The residence has plenty of toys and books for children under 12 and has space for everyone. All kids love the pool which has steps leading down into it (great for little ones who prefer splashing to swimming). There’s an outdoor swing too to keep them happy. It’s a short walk from local playgrounds. A crib and high chair can be provided on request. Children under 12 are free at The Alhambra and once they tire of the fortress there are gardens to explore and water features to marvel at. Other kid-friendly attractions include Parque Federico Garcia Lorca and the highly rated Science Park.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Safety notes: The pool is ungated but has a solar cover, which also keeps it quite warm. There are ungated stairs. The hosts can arrange a private chef to cook for you and assist with babysitting recommendations. The pool can be enjoyed from May to October. A car is not needed to explore the city, but if you do drive there is parking at the house for 1 car and there is private parking for a fee very close to the house.

About the Location

The city of Granada has one of the most dramatic locations in Spain, poised below the magnificent snowcapped peaks of the Sierra Nevada. It is the perfect setting for one of Europe's most stunning monuments – The Alhambra Palace, the romantic palace-fortress built by the last Muslims to rule in Spain. The residence is in the Realejo-San Matias neighborhood, the old Jewish quarter. It is situated on a calm, residential street at the foothills of the Alhambra Palace, which is a 15-minute walk uphill. It is an easy 15 minutes’ walk to the center of the city and all its attractions. Federico García Lorca Granada Airport is a 30-minute taxi ride.

Style Notes

Airy, uncluttered, comfortable and luxurious. This neo-rationalist house is landmarked by the city of Granada for its valuable architecture and was carefully renovated 3 years ago. It is a bright home with a very open floor plan and a Scandinavian touch. It has radiant floor heating in the winter and AC in the summer. High end appliances feature in the kitchen and the dining area directly opens to the gorgeous outdoor area. We love the pristine interiors, the wonderful roof terrace and pool area, and the privacy and calm within the city.

Granada, Andalusia

Flamenco, tapas and the show-stopping Alhambra

This captivating city in southern Spain’s Andalusia region is dominated by the UNESCO world heritage site of the 13th-century Moorish palace of Alhambra. Kids (under 12s go free) will love running around the Arab influenced Generalife Gardens, gazing at the view and getting school on history. Dig around the souks and wares in Albaícin, a medieval warren of streets, try local dishes such as remòjon, an orange-based salad with cod, or eat tapas in one of the city’s many lively bars. Explore Granada’s Science Park with a butterfly farm and planetarium, picnic in the lovely Federico Garcia Lorca Park or, if it gets too hot, hit one of the many beautiful beaches on the Costa Tropical.
