Bright, light and colorful style. This charming family home is decorated with warm colors and playful items. The kids rooms are bright and fresh colors and toys to play with, including an ostrich-topped play tent, while the parents’ bedroom is sleek and comfortable, with a light balcony. We are a family of 4, Arthur (40), Laura (40), Otto (8) and Filine (6). We have lived in Haarlem since 7 years and really enjoy this! Haarlem is a great city with a nice market and lots of shops, bars and café's and living close to the beach is amazing! We love it and spend a lot of time in the sandhills with the kids.

Haarlem, The Netherlands

Windmills, wild sand dunes and the country’s best market

This medieval city is just 15 minutes from Amsterdam by train and is full of family-friendly things to do. Start at the Grote Markt on a Saturday, where the country’s finest street market draws in crowds from far and wide, then take a boat tour of the Spaarne River. A cycle trip to the beach via wild and windy sand dunes is another key family-friendly thing to do in Haarlem. And you can’t miss the windmills: Molen (windmill) de Adriaan is said to be one of the best in the country.
