Perks for the Parents

Packed with toys and games, funky artwork and plenty to suit young families, this central Hamburg apartment is close to playgrounds and a bookstore. It is set up well for families and has a large dining/living room area with a table ideal for a large family meal, plus a practical kitchen. The 2 bedrooms are down a long corridor, making it easy to relax when the kids are asleep; the living area can be used as an extra bedroom for 2-3 people if needed.

Why Kids Love it

The apartment has plenty of toys, children’s books, and 2 big train sets, all ideal for ages 0-4. Kids can play in any of the rooms; they will especially like the large living/dining room and the long corridor, ideal for wheeled toys. Bathtime is easy as the bathroom has a tub and big sink. The balcony is a great space for playing and relaxing also. There are 3 playgrounds and a lovely book and toy store within a short walk.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 2 days. The flat is safe and secure on the 3rd floor without an elevator. There is space on the ground floor for buggies or bikes. Parking for free near the apartment can be complicated - it might be easier to use local public transit options. There are 2 accessible balconies (one on the courtyard side, the other on the street side)- from the living room) and both of them are child safe.

About the Location

Set between Karolinenviertel and Sternschanze, this central apartment is around 10 minutes from the very heart of Hamburg. The area has a lot of restaurant, bars, small coffee shops and boutiques, plus a big supermarket nearby. There are 2 subway stations, one going to the airport the other one to the center, and there is easy access to the harbour area of the city for boat tours. You can also go south to the nice and quiet area of Altona, and continue on to reach Elbe beach. Hamburg airport is a 30-minute drive away.

Accommodation Details

This 2-bedroom, 1-floor apartment has a large and connected living room and dining room (with an extra sofa bed), and a separate kitchen with access to a balcony and view of a large courtyard. The bedrooms include a master bedroom with fullsize/double bed and a children's bedroom with crib/toddler bed. The living room has a single sofa bed and the dining room has a double sofa bed; there are also 2 single mattresses and a double airbed available on request. The bathroom has a shower and tub.

Style Notes

Light and bright. This bright, very light and just renovated apartment has wooden floors, high ceilings and classic mouldings, and is a classic European city apartment. The contrast of the old style with modern equipment, bright kids toys and playful art make it an attractive place to stay. We love the serene master bedroom, the stylish black sofa and the light and well appointed living and dining spaces.

We have one boy (2 years old) and are often visiting family in France and in the Netherland. We would be very happy to let you in our very central apartment and give you all the detail and tipp you need to discover the great city of Hamburg!

Hamburg, Germany

All the fun of the fair

Germany’s second largest city has everything a great European city should have: fantastic culture, great food and a beach. Well, a river beach, but still, a beach. Tour the harbour by boat or on foot, see inside a submarine and take a pirate-guided tour of the Maritime Museum to get the best of the city’s heritage. Breakfast at the fish market is great fun, as is a trip to the DOM, the city’s regular funfair. Don’t leave without visiting the Miniatur Wunderland, an interactive miniature world where toy trains traverse the Alps and beyond.
