Why Kids Love it
This fantastic house is a short scamper to the beach, and includes a swimming pool. There is an upstairs loft that sleeps at least 6, making for a great dorm room for older kids. There is a large seating area with big-screen HDTV so kids can watch their favorite programs when they want. It’s easy to get around the local area: there is close proximity to the shops and restaurants of Coligny Plaza, a stroll along the beach, and much more. For families with infants or very young children, the hosts will provide a crib, high chair and beach stroller. Note there are no toys provided.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 3 days. Rates do not include a 10% beach and accommodation tax which is due to the host directly. Note that for younger children, the stairs are not gated, and neither is the pool. The pool is not heated - heating is available for $300 per week or $50/night for shorter stays. Young children may need supervision on the decks. The upper kids loft has ungated stairs in the middle of it and is more suitable for children over the age of 6. The house and pool area have gated entry and the whole lot is private. The house is far enough away from the beach to provide privacy from the many beach-goers, yet close enough to hear the ocean and take in the amazing views. Rental includes free WiFi, and cable-connected TVs in every room. The pool is 14x27m. No smoking throughout. Dogs are welcome for a weekly fee of $150.
About the Location
The residence is between Sea Pines and Coligny Circle towards the south of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. It is just inland from the beach and to the west of the Marriott Grande Ocean, where there are outdoor musical artists on certain nights and a beachside lounge. Coligny Circle’s shops, bars and beach volleyball are close by, and the Sea Pines beach club is about a mile’s walk away along the beach. The beach itself is quiet and uncrowded. The closest international airport is in Charleston, just over 2 hours’ drive away; Hilton Head Island airport is a 20-minute drive away.

Style Notes
Beach house. This oceanfront home on a casual beach has been decorated in a comfortable beachy manner. Comfort is a high priority, and paired with the location, it makes for a relaxing vacation. The house is set back from the beach for privacy and is quiet, yet you can still hear the sound of the sea. The wall of windows facing the ocean and elevated deck allow you to soak up the sunshine and beautiful ocean views. The spacious rooms include luxurious bathrooms with oversized showers, marble fixtures and tub, and large open family living spaces. The deck has an unusual surfboard style table and looks out to the path winding through the sands towards the ocean. We love the location, the abundance of space inside and out, and the set up for a large family or multi-family group.

Hilton Head, South Carolina
Beaches, gators and pirates
We’re going to go out on a limb and say this: Hilton Head is one of the best places for a family vacation in the whole of the USA. This little island might only be 12 miles by 5 miles wide, but it’s got everything you need for all the family: world-class beaches, tennis courts, fantastic weather and cultural trails exploring the best of South Carolina. Don’t miss the Coastal Discovery Museum, where you can get to know a ‘gator, the Harbour Town Lighthouse, for great views of the island, and Pirates of Hilton Head, where kids can sail the Black Dagger and learn to speak like a pirate.
