This architectural beauty overlooking the sea near Cala Vadella offers private seclusion, a curved infinity pool with mood lighting, and incredible sunsets from the many balconies. It would suit families with older children and sleeps up to 6. The villa is designed to maximize the view of the sea and the sunsets and almost every room, including the bedrooms, have floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that look out onto the sparkling blue sea. The kitchen is sleek and spacious with a choice of inside or outside dining and there are day beds in the garden and on the top terrace for soaking up the Ibizan sun in style.
Why Kids Love it
Kids will love to spend all day splashing in the pool here, which has a water fountain as well as lighting, or relaxing on one of the day beds on the top level. Adventurous kids will enjoy wandering down the private pathway to the shore and swimming in the sea near the villa. Otherwise, there are plenty of superb white sandy beaches a short drive away including Cala Vadella beach where you can find pedalos, kayak hire, SUP hire, a dive school and boat trips in season. Elsewhere on the island you can find jeep safaris, zip lining, coastal cycling, horse riding, boat excursions and plenty of water park fun.
Things to Know
Minimum stay: 7 nights. Rates range from 6kEUR to 13KEUR per week depending on the season. Safety notes: This property has many balconies, steps, open tread stairs and drop-offs and for this reason we would recommend that only children 8 and over stay here. Non-swimmers should be carefully supervised around the unfenced pool. The pool is 100 sq m, unheated, and is 1.8 meters at the deep end. Changeover day is Saturday. Check in: 16:00. Check out: 11:00. Security deposit €3,000. Reservations: 50% deposit at the time of booking, the remaining balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival. A mid-week clean and linen and towel change is included. Services that can be included for an additional fee include extra cleaning, a personal chef, babysitting, housekeeper, driver and security. A car is recommended to stay here. There is 1 parking space and more parking on the street.
About the Location
This villa is located in Can Cristal, 5 minutes’ drive outside the family-friendly seaside town Cala Vadella on the west coast of Ibiza. Cala Vadella is a small bay surrounded by pine-clad hills with a white-sand beach and a small number of restaurants and bars. The bay is popular with yacht owners who like to drop anchor in this natural harbor and enjoy the sunsets. From Cala Vadella you can take a boat trip to the sister island of Formentera or the mystical rocky island of Es Vedrà. The typical Ibizan village of San José is a 15 minutes’ drive. The villa is 18km (about 25 mins drive) from Ibiza Airport and Cala Vadella is well sign-posted.
Accommodation Details
The Mieke villa has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on 3 levels plus a roof terrace. On the raised first floor is the 9m x 5m curved pool and the sun deck that is also a terrace / balcony with views. From here you can enter the living room with sofas and satellite TV; there’s also a snug with a fireplace. On the second floor, the sleek kitchen has an interior dining space seating up to 8 and opens on to a sun terrace with outside dining table seating up to 4. Upstairs is a kingsize master suite with its own private terrace and an open plan bathroom with a shower and whirlpool bath tub. The other 2 bedrooms are a full / double bed and a bedroom with 2 twin / single beds. They share an outside terrace and an ensuite bathroom with a shower. All 3 bedrooms have air conditioning and WiFi. On the top deck is a sunbathing terrace with day beds and shade. Outside on the lowest level is a garden with tropical planting, a waterfall and seating, plus more day beds with views of the sea.
Style Notes
Decadent sun worshipping with views of the Med. The Mieke villa is an incredible building with a curved infinity pool at the front that wraps itself around the front of the house, set off by the angular frontage of gleaming white right angles and clean lines. The spaces are unpredictable and at varying levels with every room facing the sunset and the sea. Inside, is a pristine white interior with shiny metal balconies and stairs furnished with high end appliances and enlivened with designer furniture in neutrals and pops of fun color. We love the spacious, dreamy bedrooms that open on 2 sides; the very large kitchen that would be perfect for entertaining; and the peaceful and beautiful setting in the hills.
