Perks for the Parents

The perfect property for hosting a large family gathering in the remote woods of Glenwood, near Kamiah, Idaho. It sleeps 35. An industrial kitchen with a walk-in cooler means enough fridge space for everybody, and the 12-burner stove gets dinner done faster. The large butcher block island allows you to do your prep or lay out the whole meal (plus there are 2 sinks to help clean up quicker). There is little to no traffic other than your own party, and the property is not near a main road, so you can relax safely while the kids play outside. Need a quiet nook to read or work? There are plenty, and the property offers ample room for meditation inside or outside. Want a large screen for an epic movie night? There's two! Every seating area in the lodge has enough room for a group to make socializing as a family possible.

Why Kids Love it

This place has something for everyone. Many books and toys for babies and toddlers are available in the lower lounge game closet; while for younger and older kids, the playground outside is always popular. Activities range from novels, board games and indoor sports, to a huge TV for their favorite shows. If they like getting up close and personal with nature, they’ll love the outdoor sports, hiking trails, ATV trails and more. All the activity outlets mean the kids can have plenty of entertainment and bonding experiences at their fingertips. Whether they like ping pong and foosball or soccer and blacklight dodgeball, it's here. Teens and young adults can also look forward to the upcoming escape rooms for summer of 2025. For parents traveling with babies, the host can supply a pack n play, high chair and other baby accessories.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 3 nights. Pets may be allowed in the great room only, and a pet fee is applicable. Safety notes: there is a set of stairs in the great room that goes to the upper lounge - toddlers and babies may need help and/or full supervision when going up or down. A pond is located at the sister property a couple hundred yards away, and while gated from the top and mostly inaccessible, is not suitable for guests not staying at that property. The neighboring property can also be booked alongside this home (sleeping XX), please ask the host for details. If the neighboring property is booked by another group, the hosts ask that children use the space on their own side of the property to explore, for privacy. The lodge features ample parking with room for RV's. Add-on packages and seasonal discounts may be available upon request.

About the Location

The lodge is 12 miles from the charming town of Kamiah in Idaho. The nearest airport is 1 hour and 45 minutes away at Lewiston. Kamiah features a riverfront park, a local library, ice cream parlor, year-round events and many family-friendly activities. The host’s personal favorite is a local art foundation - River Arts - that provides amazing free activities and resources for creative play. Car rental is essential as the area is very remote with zero public transport.

Accommodation Details

The property has 11 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The lower lounge, a comfortable common area, provides access to 5 numbered bedrooms; a bathroom and laundry room are both accessible from the lounge. The upper lounge leads to bedrooms 6-11. Rooms 7-10 have a kingsize bed plus a double or triple bunk, excellent for accommodating a family. Two more bathrooms are available in the back of the upper lounge. A spacious great room comfortably seats more than 100 people and doubles as a dance hall, dodgeball court or game room, with a cozy corner for conversations. Two more bathrooms are accessible from the great room. The outdoor space is versatile, with a zipline, volleyball, nine square, gaga ball, and assorted yard games on the lawn, porch swings and a playground.

Style Notes

Rustic eclectic. All wood finishes are handmade - the local workmanship showcases blued pine, hewn and handcrafted directly from the property. One prominent feature of the lodge is the great room, a flexible dining space which sports exposed trusses for a spacious, open feel. This property aims to accommodate large gatherings, while also providing quiet, private areas. The serene countryside surrounding the lodge completes it as a retreat.
