This light, bright, family friendly residence in the heart of Copenhagen’s old town is perfect with small children and sleeps up to 2-3 adults and 2 children plus a baby. Walking distance from the city’s key attractions, it has a master bedroom and children’s rooms with built-in bunks. While the bathroom and kitchen might be on the compact side, the lounge is spacious and has beautiful design touches - including large butterfly prints by Hong Kong artist Simon Birch - and the location allows you to shop, visit museums and take boat trips with no need for a car and makes traveling with small kids who need a midday nap a breeze. For a three or four day city break, we can’t find a better spot to stay.

What we love

  • The vast lounge with leather corner sofas and butterfly images - perfect after a busy day in the city
  • The incredible location in the heart of the old city, near to the city’s designer fashion and interior stores
  • Plenty of Danish design to admire
  • The kitchen is compact but has everything you need to create a family feast
  • Fun kids room packed with toys and character
  • Bright, comfortable master bedroom with double bed and large flatscreen TV
  • Kids bedrooms with built in bunks (upper bunk best for older kids) and lower bed with small bed guard. Travel crib also available
  • The bathroom is ultra compact with a shower and no bath; a baby bath can be provided on request
  • Bright light, high ceilings and well located for everything in the old town, including The King’s Garden, which has family shows and events in summer
  • Views from the lounge of the street, with upmarket fashion and design stores nearby

Things to know

  • 20-30 minutes from Copenhagen Kastrup airport by train; 10-15 minutes by taxi
  • Parking is limited nearby - the best way to get around Copenhagen is by bike, and there is bike parking outside
  • On the third floor of an apartment building with an elevator
  • In a safe neighborhood near the King’s Garden
  • FYI! We are awaiting a photography update. Since the current pictures were taken, the crib in the kids room has been replaced with a second single bed. A travel crib is available - just ask the host
  • Note that the kids room doesn’t have a window and has a partial door
  • For smaller children, a high chair, swing, toys (including Lego) and stroller are also available along with a Sofia change table - just ask the host

We are a family with two daughters. Smilla is 11 and Sofia is 5.... We love traveling though we mostly go to Spain as we have a house and family there. Its nice for the kids and they look forward to it every year as its something they are familiar with. Our kids love to do a bunch of different stuff , they are very open to everything which makes traveling easier. We love living in the center of Copenhagen and are so pleased to be able to give the pleasure to other people through Kid&Coe. We joined Kid&Coe as you can't get a better way to travel! :) We hope to see you soon in Copenhagen - its such a great little city.

We had a wonderful time in Copenhagen with our family, and especially loved staying at Sara's apartment. The location is fantastic - close to amazing parks, lots of attractions in the city center, and easy to get to transportation. The kids loved playing with the toys, and especially swinging on the rings in the living room. The apartment was beautifully decorated and we found everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Sara was an excellent host, and we would be happy to come back again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful little apartment. Our little one still needs a day sleep and the location was perfect for that. The girls loved Sofia's bedroom with its bunk bed and cubby house curtains. Wish we had more time to spend here!

Our family of 5 (9 yo twins and a 5 yo) had a wonderful stay here in July. The apartment is beautiful, the location is perfect, and Copenhagen is a lovely city. Sara was very warm and welcoming and left fresh flowers around the apartment, which was a nice touch. It made a world of difference during our travels to not be in a hotel for a few days - the kids loved the bunk beds to explore and the Legos to play with, we all appreciated the extra space to relax in, and I think staying here gave us a better feel for the neighborhood than if we'd been in a hotel nearby.

Gorgeous apartment in the absolute best location in Copenhagen. The master bedroom is really small, but the rest of the apartment is so spacious, it makes up for it.

Thank you, Sara, for your warm welcome. We really enjoy our stay. The apartment is perfectly clean, cozy and functional. And we loved the beautiful style of your home. The location is fantastic, central for the visits and easy to get to from the metro from the airport. Copenhagen is a lovely place.

The flat is in a wonderful central location, within easy walk distance to Copenhagen's many attractions. Our family of 5 (3 kids aged 6, 4 and almost 2) enjoyed our stay. Our two girls particularly enjoyed sleeping in the bunk beds. Thank you to Sara for being a gracious host.

A very good ad warm place to stay and enjoy the city during winter time as we experienced it. Our two 5 year old twin daughters loved it as well. Sara accepted our last minute extra guests (one adult one child) and we fitted with 6 easily int the apartment. As mentioned in other comments, the kids room is open to the living room so do not plan for loud adult evenings parties.

Wow !! Copenhagen was such a blast, thanks to Sara and this gorgeous place, complete with PRIME location. Our family of 4 settled in perfectly here, in fact, my 4 year old has already asked me when we can return so he can sleep in Sofia's cozy bunk bed. :) This location is SO easy to get to from the Metro, a short walk to many of the best shopping and eats, and Sara even recommended wonderful babysitters for us. We had a great stay and we definitely plan to return (sadly, Tivoli was closed while we were there !) Thanks for the lovely experience.

We had the most wonderful time in the Christian IXth Residence, we cannot recommend it enough. Sara is incredibly warm and welcoming, she went out of her way to accommodate our arrival and departure times, the flat was super clean and very well appointed, we had everything we needed, including a baby cot, high chair, and swing! for our youngest. Our two older girls absolutely loved the bunkbeds and the great selection of toys. The location is absolutely perfect, Copenhagen is a wonderfully charming city, the food is amazing and we would have happily moved right in! We were so grateful to Sara for opening her flat to us so we could discover this wonderful little city.

The welcome was lovely. Location perfect - we could go all around the centre of the city and be back for naptime no problems. Lovely touches such as flowers in every room. Lots and lots of towels which was really appreciated. The baby bathtub was great fun, even for our 4 year old! We put breakable things such as lvoely vases out of the reach of our toddler - it was the only worry, that we would mess up such a beautifuly decorated place! Toys - perfect for our 4 year old. She never had a dull moment. For the 18month old we had to bring things, and again we were worried he would break some of the nicer toys. We felt like we were locals! We didn't want to leave. Highly recommend this flat to any family. And there were enough bed that we could even have fit two more children!

This apartment was fantastic! The owner's have a wonderful sense of style and creativity. Even though it is in the perfect location - near a wonderful park, great shopping and restaurants - we didn't feel the need to leave the apartment all the time because it was such a nice place to spend time. My two young girls loved the bunk-bed and playing with their variety of toys. I highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay and Sara and Thomas were excellent hosts. The apartment is lovely, well located, and clean. Our 16-month-old had a great time playing in the apartment and nearby park, and was very comfortable in the portable crib provided. Highly recommended.

Such a beautiful, cozy and well-located pad. We were close to everything, but also so happy to stay in and spend time together. Our kiddo loved the legos and the park around the corner. Everything about the place was thoughtful and fit our needs just right. We'd love to stay here again.

We had an overall great experience at the residence. The location was perfect and very within walking distance to many shops and attractions. There was an elevator which was very helpful since we had a stroller. Sara was helpful and friendly. There were toys for my 3-year old to play with including an abundance of lego.

This place was amazing! The location was incredible. Right in the heart of everything. Shops nearby. We walked all of the time, even to the awesome Tivoli which was just 20mins. The apartment itself was perfect. Now 3 rooms, there was everything we needed. Cot, bedding, bunk beds, hgighchair, even a baby bath to use instead of the shower. Sara was incredibly helpful, and available for last minute taxi numbers on the bank holiday. Lots of cooking equipment and a run of toys for the kids! We loved it here! Plus as the pictures show, it is beautiful. Only thing that would be useful would be some local hints for places to shop and eat. However there were two guide books in the apartment to use.

We loved our stay in Copenhagen. The flat felt very spacious and was clean and child friendly. The location was perfect - right in the centre of town - and we managed to walk everywhere. Two fantastic coffee shops were literally 90 seconds walk away and we were very close to a lovely green park. We have already recommended Copenhagen and Sara's flat to lots of our friends.

The Rantzau-Meyer family is lovely and their apartment was perfect for us! We spent 4 days there with our two small children and had the best time. The apartment is perfectly situated to walk or take the metro everywhere. It was so nice to be able to take the kids for fun adventures during the day and then cook at home when everyone was tired at the end of the day. Sara made it so easy and the whole stay was just perfect!

The lounge/living and the connecting dining spaces are beautifully decorated and large spacious rooms. The kitchen and bathrooms are small spaces that have been well designed to fit the essentials. However they are both of a very basic standard. The children's bunk room is again a beautiful yet small space that is filled with toys. It is actually partitioned off with a stud wall from the dining space. Note there is no ceiling to enclose this room nor heating/thermostat. Would suit children up to the age of 6/7. The other bedroom housed a queen bed. Clean and tidy room but basic. The location of the apartment is wonderful and the building itself was quiet during our stay.

We had an extremely pleasant stay at the Christian IXth residence... the location is just beating what most hotels can offer and the apartment is very cosy yet still functional: you can definitely notice that our hosts have thought through all the details from the decoration to the little attentions for kids. The kid's bedroom is a very nice space and our 2 boys felt like it was home from the first minute. We will come back there for sure if we were to go to Copenhagen again.

We had a wonderful stay in the Christian IXth Residence. This flat is as beautiful as it looks in the photos. The location is great: well connected by foot and bus to lots of things and also in itself situated in a lovely little corner of the city. In the morning we would bring back pastries from a nearby bakery and in the evening it was a cozy place for all of us to hang out. We had a lovely stay and would go back in a heartbeat.

We really loved everything! Felt at home. We visited with our two childs. The apartment is spacious. clean and our style of design and furniture. Location is perfect right in the middle of everything. We walked to all of the sights. The park next door is excellent to spend time in the summer afternoons. Highly recommend it.

The apartment in Copenhagen was great. i have given the overall experience 4 stars instead of 5 only because we had an 18-month old and the 2nd bedroom (the kids bedroom) had an open ceiling to the living room so our son had a bit of trouble falling asleep. other than that the place is wonderful. sara and her partner were great. the location is excellent; walking distance to a huge park as well as grocery stories and shops. the apartment is so clean and light and great to just relax in. i highly recommend it.

Cobbled streets, cozy cafes and designer shops

Copenhagen’s oldest neighborhood, the ‘inner city’, is all cobbled streets, cozy cafes and designer shops. This being Copenhagen, there are plenty of places to play, including The King’s Garden, which stages shows and events for families in the summer. It’s a great location for the modern waterfront and the city’s museums too.
