The house is great for kids under 10 and includes books, toys, balls and more. There are 2 different parks and playgrounds just 3 blocks away, and the house has a private fenced grassy backyard. For younger children, 2 high chairs, 2 toddler chairs, a single stroller and possibly a double are available to borrow, along with a Pack’n’Play, baby lounger, baby tub, a rock’n’play bassinet and more. The kids will love the play kitchen, tepee and family spaces designed to enjoy together.

There is plenty of street parking; car hire may not be essential as the house is 3 blocks from the train and buses which run just about everywhere in the city. There is plenty of street parking and a 2-car garage in the back.

The playroom can hold a queensize air mattress or Pack’n’Play, and 2 sofas can be used for further guests. Bathrooms include a wetroom with shower and another with tub. The house has a large front porch with a deck and grassy backyard with grill.

Style Notes

Graceful living. Style and grace characterize this incredible family home. With an open floor plan, tall ceilings, and bright white walls, everything is selected to created a space that feels warm, inviting, clean and very peaceful. The owner is a lover of the simplicity and zen-like qualities found in Scandinavian and Japanese design, and has created a truly unique house. The mural on the nursery bedroom wall adds a soft drama to the room, while the entry hall has a dramatic and dynamic lampshade. Everywhere, soft textures combine with neutral colors to create a warm and welcoming ambience. We love the wooden stools, floors and benches, the art, and the shaggy sheepskin throws.

I'm a freelance interior designer living in Chicago with my husband, Mark. We have 2 young boys, ages 3 and 1. My husband travels a lot for work and sometimes, I get to travel along with him! I love nearly all of Europe and parts of Asia, as does my husband. :) I love small cafes, shops, brick paths, cobblestone streets, local, fresh food and of course, art, great design and noteworthy architecture. My husband speaks German and Mandarin and is endlessly fascinated by global economics, policies and history. Cheers!
