Perks for the Parents

This gorgeous, 4-story luxury mountain chalet has views of surrounding peaks and is a 2-minute drive to the Salette gondola with access to Valtournenche, Cervinia, and Zermatt and over 360 km of pistes. It sleeps up to 18 and a baby. The property is well set up for multiple families to stay, with parents close to children's rooms on each floor. There are 2 bathtubs for kids’ baths or grown-up soaking time. The kitchen is open with a large living space just off to the side. The property is in the traditional Alpine village of Valtournenche, town center is a 2-minute drive or 5-minute walk where there are cute restaurants and shops, although you’ll find the comfort of this vacation home hard to leave.

Why Kids Love it

Kids will feel relaxed in this spacious chalet where there’s ample space to play. Italians love children – restaurants welcome them and Italian food is very child-friendly. In winter, there are kids’ ski lessons available with patient Italian instructors. Kidzone Cervinia is a park with sledges, buckets and spades for digging snow, playhouses and slides and bouncy castles. A Pack 'n Play, high chair, kids’ cutlery and toys will make your stay easier.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 7 nights. During peak times (about two weeks before Christmas until the end of April and July - August) check-in is Sat to Sat; off-peak check-in is flexible. There are lots of internal stairs making this house unsuitable for an unsteady walker. Some stars have an open tread or have wide bannisters where toddlers should be supervised. There are 2 balconies where children should take care. The open fire can be closed for safety. An alarm system is installed but location in the village is very quiet and secure. Chalet staff can be provided for an additional fee. Car hire is recommended, there is a covered garage with parking space for two cars and 1 spot outside the garage.

About the Location

The chalet is located in the Alpine village of Paquier, in the Aosta province, Valle d'Aosta,and the town center of Valtournenche is 2 km away and easily walkable. The location is charming in the winter ski season with pistes on the doorstep and in summer when you can ‘via ferrata’ (climb aided by static ropes) or walk trails through flowering pastures with expansive mountain views. Summer skiing is possible in nearby Cervinia (15 minute drive) on the Plateau Rosà glacier. There is also a fun kid's snow park, Kidzone, also in Cervinia. To reach the chalet, fly into Turin Airport (1 hr, 30 mins drive) or Milan Malpensa (2 hrs).

Accommodation Details

This 8-bedroom, 5-bathroom vacation home is on 4 stories. On the main floor is a gourmet kitchen with an oven, microwave, American-style refrigerator, 2 sinks and 2 dishwashers. A breakfast corner offers a Nespresso coffee maker and toaster and there is a breakfast bar and dining table seating up to 18. The living room with a central open fireplace has seating on 1 side and a TV snug on the other. Below in the lower floor are 2 bedrooms: 1 queensize and 1 bunk room sleeping 4 and a full bathroom with a bath and shower. Also here is another small kitchen, living room and dining room, a laundry with 2 washing machines, 2 driers, and a ski and boot room with a drying rack. The 2nd floor holds 2 kingsize master suites, each with ensuite bathrooms, plus 2 twin / single bedrooms that share a large bathroom. The top floor has 2 bedrooms that share a full bathroom: 1 kingsize bedroom and 1 bedroom with 2 twin / singles.

Style Notes

Alpine beauty. This chalet with over 400 sq m of living space has been renovated to a high standard with lots of cozy accents including fluffy sheepskins, deep sofas and a 360-degree open fireplace. Walls are made of bare stone or wood giving texture and interest. The balconies provide beautiful views of the valley and the town below. Parents will love the chef’s kitchen with instant hot water and still and sparkling water on tap. Bathrooms have high-end fittings and fixtures with details such as carved stone basins and wood-paneled tubs. We love the vintage ski posters; the cozy bunk bed with curtains; the light-fittings made out of pieces of reclaimed wood and antlers; and the free-standing tub and glass-cubed shower in the master suite that shouts opulence. There’s much design to enjoy here.

Payment policy
When a host accepts your booking, we will automatically charge your card 30% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance if the check in date is more than 6 weeks away. We will send you a balance payment reminder at 6 weeks before check in and you will be required to submit your payment to finalise your reservation. If a host accepts your booking and the check in date is 6 weeks away or less, we will charge your card 100% of the total cost of the stay on acceptance.
Cancellation policy
For cancellations notified up to 6 weeks before the check in date, guests will receive a refund of any amount paid less 10% of the total cost of the booking. For cancellations notified at 6 weeks or less before the check in date, no refunds are given unless the host agrees. If a host does agree to a full or partial refund, this amount will be returned to the guest less 10% of the total cost of the booking. Some hosts will also allow a stay to be rescheduled. Guests should contact their host for further information regarding any request to change the dates of a stay.
