There is a spacious master bedroom, with 2 bedrooms for kids, one of which connects to the parents’ room. The bathroom has a bath and shower, and there is a backyard with dining area. Close to Journal Square Path Station, and only 20 minutes to New York City and downtown Jersey City, with its many restaurants and cafés, no-one will be bored.

Why Kids Love it

The location is great for kids, a short stroll from Lincoln Park with its enormous playground and safe cycling, with Liberty State Park is also accessible. The kid’s room is set up with toys, books and art supplies, including a child-size easel. Great for younger kids, one of the bedrooms connects to the parent's room. The backyard offers some outdoor space and the house is unpretentious and fun, with few trinkets to get knocked over.

Things to Know

Minimum stay: 5 nights. The house has ungated stairs. It has all the mod cons, a washer/dryer in the basement, plus bath and shower. The single child’s bed has fold-up sides for safety. The decking area and yard out back are bonuses on sunny days, but small children will need supervising. There is free parking out front; car rental is not necessary. Stair gates, high chair and booster seat may be available on request.

Style Notes

Modern family. Full of character, easy-going and fun, this property is first and foremost a family home. Many of the original Victorian features are preserved and the kitchen is new, with premier appliance. We love the relaxed, uncluttered living space, perfect for family hang-outs, plus the stylish bathroom. The outdoor decking area is also perfect for pancake breakfasts to build energy before a day downtown.

Jersey City, New Jersey

Skyscrapers, parks and playgrounds

Just across the water from the Big Apple, Jersey City is packed with glittering skyscrapers, family-friendly parks and great places to play. Liberty State Park is your first stop: check out the Liberty Science Center’s interactive exhibits, live animals and great tots area, and don’t miss a Statue of Liberty cruise from the quay. Bars and ethnic restaurants line Grove Street downtown, while along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway you can find eateries with iconic views. Among many places to play, three elephants on River Drive in Newport act as handy sprinklers in the summer and preside over an outdoor skating rink in the winter.
